I am so showing this to my teenage kids.

I'm the only one on my dev team who is using a Windows laptop instead of a MacBook. Every time someone else needs to present, it's a scramble for a dongle, and then their WiFi drops and it takes five minutes to get reconnected.

Yeah, my ThinkPad looks like an industrial accident compared to those admittedly sexy MacBooks, but unlike those, my Windoze machine "just works (TM)."\

I wasn't thinking he was rich kid who goes to tennis camp because he was at a tennis match; it was because he was courtside and was very skilled--he doesn't look like some kid who has never held a racquet before or only plays at the park with friends. He was too good.

Cool and all, but you just know that kid has rich parents who spend thousands on sending him to tennis camp in the hopes that he'll turn pro.

I was really expecting the pyramid to be only the beginning of a chain reaction involving automatic sprinklers.

I find some of his videos interesting, but there's something about *him* that just makes me want to punch him in the face.

Me either. I ended up doing some Wikipedia reading, and it turns out that there was a sort of transitional phase where the combination of reciprocating engines with a cruising turbine wasn't entirely uncommon. I'd always thought it one or the other exclusively.

I also hadn't realized how many ships used turbine-electric setups instead of direct drive. Wiki page.

One quibble with the video--I didn't get all of the ships shown when he was talking about coal dust as the reason for black hulls, but at least a couple were late enough that I'm pretty sure they'd been build as oil-burners (SS Normandie for example).
