YouTube Previewing Videos on Hover?

I just discovered by accident that when you hover your mouse over YouTube embeds they're apparently now stepping through thumbnails from the video so you can preview pieces of the thing before you ever actually click it!

That's a wonderful development. Has anyone else seen this or heard an announcement about this? Is this common knowledge?

It's been a feature on YouTube itself for some time, but I'm not sure if they allowed it on embeds as I never paid attention... though I thought that's been a regular thing as well.

Naw, bro.

I'm talking about the whole embed itself, not yet clicked, sitting idle on a page... when you hover over it the poster starts switches every ~1 second progressively to another frame from the video.

Screen capture/shot and/or videos please.

I am seeing what Eric3579 is saying. It had been around months or more? However, not all videos can do that. I think only the newer videos can.
