Who's playing Left 4 Dead?
It's pretty much the bestest thing ever. I just played a game and it rocked my world.
Is anyone else playing the demo? You have to buy the full game to access the demo right now, but if my one play-through is any indication, then it's definitely worth the money.
We should arrange a game -- videosift versus zombies! Who's with me?
Oh, and I should probably mention that I'm talking about the PC version.

I havent played it yet, but I will be getting it on Steam.
Oh, and I call the Grizzled Ol' Veteran Character!
Can't wait. I'll get it on Monday (360 version that is).
To fuck you all up, I'm buying the PS3 version. Now, none of us will play together!
L4D didn't look like my cup of tea anyway, but I refuse to buy games when the publisher/developer treats me like a criminal by default. Big Brother Steam is not welcome on my PC.
I played through single player once with each character on normal difficulty. I haven't jumped in a MP game yet.
Since when has Valve/Steam ever treated anyone like a criminal.

Yeah, I think that's hyperbole on xxovercastxx's part -- they do force you to go online, once, to register a game when you've first bought it (assuming you bought the boxed version), but that's pretty much par for the course at this point. Steam certainly seems like the lesser of evils these days, especially with the limited install policies of games like Spore or Mass Effect.

There is no plans for a ps3 version... LULZ
I am loving it too.
Steam can and will in some cases close accounts without disclosing a reason. Apart from that, the way you can play it anywhere and re-download games with a click rocks.
Will be a first day purchase from me, PC version all the way.
I used to have similar misgivings about Steam, but it's certainly come a long way since it was first introduced, as anyone who may have tried it during the beginning can attest to. Referring Steam to BB may be a bit of hyperbole, though I would've certainly agreed with that assessment in the days when it was very intrusive (compared to anything else at the time), buggy, unuintuitive, with far too many constraints upon the end-user.
Yes, it's technically a "form" of DRM, but in my experience it's the most stream-lined, feature-rich, convenient, utilitarian, and unobtrusive... not to mention successful/well-received experiment in DRM (for non-MP games) I've seen thus far.
Need a playable demo!
I just pre-ordered it after a few days of waiting...I know I'm going to upgrade soon, so I really wanted to see what the demo looked like on my ancient PC...And I gotta tell you, it actually looks pretty damn decent.

I have a Pentium 4 3.2 (single core)
2 GB PC 3200 RAM
Geforce 7800GS (AGP, 256MB)
800mhz FSB
Playing at 1280x720 on a 47" LCD.
I haven't tried multiplayer yet. A buddy of mine is grabbing the demo next week when it goes wide, so I'll wait until he gets it. We tend to use Teamspeak anyway. As for the gameplay, lovin' it. Should really be interesting to see how this progresses the zombie game genre. Next up, I want a zombie game made with Bethesda's engine. Imagine roaming the streets, looking for survivors, ammo, food, etc...oh man, that would be fucking tight. I'm getting hard just thinking of it.
