Videosift pages keep reloading over and over again

Something you've changed in your page code is forcing page reloads every X seconds, which has the completely undesired effect of causing the 'Back' Button in your browser to be less than useful.

If you've been watching a 5 minute long video, you may have had the page reloaded that many times, so click back to return to where you were only to have to do it 4 more times as EVERY one of those refreshes is inserted into the browsing history.

It's sloppy and a really rather annoying way to, I assume, get more page impressions for your ads?

That happened to me a while ago, I just closed my web browser and then reopened, haven't had a problem since. I'm pretty sure that computers have started to develop 'ghosts'. I fear the struggle between man and technology will soon reach an epic scale.

This should be fixed now.

Randomize: That should only happen after you have added a comment of your own on the same page (without a reload). If you cast a comment vote before you add a comment, that's probably your 70% case. We'll try to get that fixed.

As new ads load up, it counts as a new page to the browser (for me, Firefox 2.x) which is why clicking "back" only once seems to do nothing. This has befallen many a website as advertising has become a necessity to keeping the site alive.

My fix: I no longer use the "back" button on my mouse, rather, I click the drop-down menu on my back arrow and choose an earlier page load. It's not a big deal for me...but for some, it may well be a big deal.

I'm using Firefox 3.0 And it's still going on today.

And yeah, I have noticed it happen in (whoops, there it goes again, another page reload right while I was typing this) one other site (Deviantart), but they fixed it, it doesn't occur any more.

The page doesn't really visibly reload, but the working icon starts amovin' and you can see down in the info bar that it's loading stuff.

And, of course, you then have one more item in your history... the same page.

Just to let you know - this is still happening. I'm using camino 1.6.1, which uses the same gecko engine as firefox, so no surprise there. It's weird in that it will even go through a reload while a video is playing, with no interruption.
