The heart-wrenching agony of VideoSift

I've learned through a few years hanging around the sift(a couple of those in only a lurking capacity), that many of my favorite videos are too bizarre or WTF to get sifted. So, accordingly I make concessions and compromises and look for videos that might have some mass appeal. But in my short time posting I've already experienced several heartaches over videos that I've championed that I felt had an honest chance at video sift greatness, and they were either under-appreciated (IMO) or almost completely ignored. Maybe it all comes down to timing and finding a catchy title, or maybe I'm a fuggin weirdo...either way, I was wondering what your greatest VS disappointment was.....mine, thus far, is this lil beauty http://videosift.com/video/Single-Mom-Prostitute-song Don't know why I like this as much as I do, but there you have it. Whats yours?

Well, after watching the Single Mum Prostitute song and thinking 'W T F???' I think I can safely say that you do have a taste which is left of center and as such is unlikely to get big hits on videosift I'm afraid. There's funny WTF, and then there's just WTF... and for me, the SMP song was a case of pure WTF. I don't really think being strange for the sake of being strange works, I like there to be some point.

But hey, maybe I'm just Mr Mainstream.

Don't put so much attention on being mainstream. Sift what you like. If nobody likes it, rest assured your taste is rare. If you care that much that your stuff gets sifted, throw a couple of crowd pleasers in there to get our attention then have a ball with your weird stuff. No promises that we'll upvote it, but at least your videos will be watched.
