Now might be a good time to explain exactly how you got that name, for those of us who've never heard the story.

Short answer: self-linking

Long answer: I have a *very* old copy of Spike & Mike's Festival of Animation, Vol 1 (yeah...try finding that one!) on videotape and had recently archived it to DVD. So I ripped a few of the classic toons, posted them on YouTube. At the time, I had just discovered VS, so I posted them here. Like who ever reads the terms of service/terms of use agreements at different sites you visit. So long story short, I go to login the next day and had been shown the door by David Spade with a nice "Buh-bye..." Doh!

Unless there's a cheece in that sift, it's not awesome!

But of course. I was just tired of my old avatar and was trying to think of a new one. At that same moment, I was staring at a picture of Siftbot on some post, and it all of a sudden hit me. I started laughing out loud and figured others would too. But after I made it, I saw that some could take offense, just due to the fact that it could come off like I was mocking VS. Hence this post.

It seems though that my intention was taken for what I wanted it to be, so long live my new Sifty. (Until I get bored with it, of course.)

Me thinks you think VS'ers are more sensitive than they think -
and as sensitive as they are.
