Problem with Avatar upload
While I'm starting to kind of like my "this photo is not available-flickr" avatar, I had my heart set on something more colorful. I've tried numerous times, with different photos to upload something but the URL keeps getting chopped off at the ".jpg" point. When I type it back in and re-submit it still chops it off. Am I doing something wrong? The image URL I'd like to use is: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/135/326459629_b477369c5a_s.jpg Thanks!

joedirtIf I edit my profile, it is also chopped at .jpg.. Try filling it in without the http:// and see if that takes.
lisacatThanks, joedirt. No, that didn't work either. I got it up once yesterday, but the image was too big and when I re-submitted the smaller one it disappeared.
arrendekAre you submitting from your own Flickr account? I had to copy someone else's image (which I feel VERY weird about, for obvious reasons) to my Flickr account to get it to work.
fireflyOr you can try a different size. I had a similar problem--I had to select "large" to get mine to display.
lisacatYes, from my own account. I always thought flickr frowned on using photos without a link back to flickr. It even says "Remember! Flickr Terms of Service specify that if you post a Flickr photo on an external website, the photo must link back to its photo page...." Like I said though, it DID work one time?!?
joedirtIt's true my pic is much larger, and the sift-magic makes it avatar size. Maybe your pic isn't big enough to be "shrunk"??
lucky760Sorry you're having problems lisacat, but as far as the URL goes, it is intentionally cut off after you submit it in your profile because that is the "base" URL to the image. If you append different things (like _s.jpg, _m.jpg, etc.) they allow you to access different sizes of the same image.
As far as why your image is not loading, it's hard to tell, but can you supply the URL to your Flickr account where the images are located? If you don't want that to be public, you can private message me in my profile.

lisacatyeah, been there done all that and it still didn't work for some reason.
dotdudeI had trouble with all images that I uploaded to Flickr today. When I tried the url from images uploaded prior today, they displayed with no trouble.
