That's an interesting idea. I wonder how posters would feel about others doing that to their posts? It's already a bit of a touchy point with tags.

I don't even like tag editing really. I've done it a couple of times to add something, but the times I've changed someone's...it's usually not appreciated.

No, if someone wants to add...that's what comments are for.

I too have been considering this, but, unlike tags, I think there shouldn't be any ability to modify someone else's summary, only adding a new one where none exists.

agree with swampgirl ... i'm not for it at all! and i'm one of those that doesn't like her tags touched!!

the only time i usually change anyone's tags is for a typo, misspelling, or lack of tags.

really no sweat off my back if they don't add a description ... we've never had them before!

Let's face it.

At the rate things are going we will have to eventually cycle alot of our content, because it will get pulled, accounts will go dead and such.

So I don't mind if there are no descriptions for a while.

Plus I'd be pissed.

Make it a diamond ability to add description where none exist. It'll keep farhad busy for another 5 minutes...

I wouldn't mind it at all as long as it was a non-biased description. I think the chances are low (on this site) that someone would add something like, "This video sucks, don't bother watching it." but it still could happen.
On the other hand, if someone has more information on a post than I do, I wouldn't mind at all if a description for the video was added. A good description can be life or death for a video, and will only help a video's votes. If nothing else, they are helping my video succeed. Likewise in the other direction. If I posted a description for a video that had none, I would be helping the poster of that video. As long as, like I previously mentioned, it was a neutral informational description.

guess i'm the only one that sees this as a good thing, and not as a "you edited my post to make it easier to find and more descriptive, how dare you!"
