Dugg again
Aplogies if the site is a little pokey today. We've been dugg for the second day in a row.

Our server load is hoverin in the red zone around 10.

Here's the link over at Digg. http://www.digg.com/videos/comedy/Who_said_stoners_are_too_lazy_to_run
I don't understand... Why is the yellow one plummeting? And what happened to the blue line?

That just means that the day is only half done. Where it plummets are the hours that haven't been counted yet.
Oh... how pessimistic! Sounds like you're just planning to fail, Dag!

How is that pessimistic? That's just how the graph works- as the day progresses the flat parts get filled up.
Because you're just assuming that it's gonna plummet in a few hours! Go cry, emo boy.
(It was a joke. That's all I really do.)

Oh, sorry - I'm hung over from my high school reunion - joke sensor is offline.
thanks dag, my feelings of self-worth are through the roof now... I didn't realize it got transferred over to digg. However, my apologies for contributing to the boggignation of VS. I'll try to find less funny stuff to post in the future (counterproductive?) ...well maybe not. Some of the comments people left about it are as funny as the video itself.
I noticed VS broke 5k on Alexa. Take that poeTV! (at 110k+)
Can we see the end-of-day graph?
Oh, and what is up with the "oh, here's a direct link" commentary from the random dugg YT lover?
Don't people like that realize that a VS link is superior since there's a user sitting around here waiting to leap into action and repair the link if it's lost?
Silly fools...
bastardos' !

By special request from Krupo - here's the full day.
We don't like being bogged, but we do like the traffic, because it helps our self-worth.
And thanks J-Rova - your self-worth is justified
How much longer until VideoSift stock goes on sale? Let's hit that market hard, baby!

Well Dotdude informed me recently that there was a hostile takeover at Blogshares
We're worth $93,664.35? What's my cut of that?
I have never looked at Digg, nor have ever been curious about another sharing site but this one.. (edited off last lame question) I guess where I'm getting at... this is interesting and I know jack about it..
And you thought Digg hates us!
Can charter members get stock options?
I'm only half-kidding.
Thanks for sharing the link. Now can someone explain why my Firefox installation is suddenly going insane on me? As of last night it just started lagging.
It's slow again here. Another Digg, Fark, etc.?

I'm afraid so. We're trying to stay on top of it, but we're struggling under the weight of link-love.
What is it this time?

Well, here's the top 10 for today so far:
1. google [organic]
2. [Direct]
3. brainblog.to (NSFW)
4. bluesnews.com[referral]
5. stumbleupon.com[referral]
6. digg.com[referral]
7. fark.com[referral]
8. 9.yahoo.com[referral]
9. gorillamask.net[referral]
10. meneame.net[referral]
Yeah, but who was the most hammering? Or are they all hammering to make it up unlike Digg and Fark?

It's a multi-prong effort, no huge standout like yesterday.
Ah OK. Thanks.
So what's the next step in the load-balancing fight? Web server maintenance intrigues me.

Well, this time, we're going to go to the highest single box configuration we can find, a dual Xeon beast. We think it should last a while, as we're going to switch at the same time as the new VS 3.0 comes in, which has a lot less overhead.
After that- we'll go to a dedicated database box and a single webserver box, and then add in webserver boxes over the months.
Wow, cool. All hosted at some central 3rd party facility, or someone's basement?
