Same message here; I'm on OS X running Firefox without AdBlock installed.

Ironically, I do have AdBlock installed on the version of FireFox I use on my work PC, but I did not get the message there.

Are we seriously doing this?? VS isn't going to become another one of them, is it? Does anyone actually believe that people who use AdBlock would click ads anyway?

Very strange.. I've talked to SiftBot and he's agreed to a temporary moratorium pending investigation. (He's a bit overzealous at times, if you haven't noticed.)

I don't think people who block ads would click ads, but it doesn't hurt to have a small, unobtrusive message reminding people of their roll in SiftBot's plans to overtake humanity.

Good to hear that SiftBot is at least open to discussing alternate points of view!

i get the same message using opera on xp with no ad block software.

LOL.. what is this adblocker msg?? I won't share my secrets, but I don't see any ads (except the text ones). But it's nothing personal to VS, I just have browser set up that was for the internets.

I do encourage folks to click on one or two of the text or other ads everytime you visit. Just pop them in some back tab and forget about it. Don't click the same ad like 20 times in a row as you aren't doing any favors.

same was here (i.e. I don't have adblock but it complained anyway, OSX/FF), but now the problem is gone.

I use Adblocker in SeaMonkey on multiple machines and OS', and I don't see this. Maybe because I have the subscription account. [shrugs]

I just got this myself. I don't use adblocking software but I do use Noscript on Firefox.

I've added videosift.com to Adblock Pro's disable list, but I still occasionally receive the "Bag of mainly water..." message when browsing the site with Firefox. Reloading the page removes the warning, but I imagine that its occasional appearance may indicate that I'll get harvested at some point in the future? Though I'll admit I'm ignorant as to what that means.

However, I only see the Google text ads. Are there supposed to be flashing ads everywhere?

I've had a nice, lengthy discussion with the master of the universe (SiftBot, not He-Man) and he has assured me that from this point forward there's no way he will bother anyone who isn't truly on his harvest-first list.

Let us all hope he's right. He didn't actually say so, but there was an apologetic tone in his system-generated AI when we spoke. I'll say it for him: Sorry for the bother.

I get the same message but have nothing installed which would stop the ads being shown - standard IE6 install here.

Haha. I have to laugh at his/her/its frustration. Apparently even SiftBot gets to suffer from IE's custom brand of worldwide punishment.

Are we going to get an explanation of "harvest-first"? Should I just not bother contributing anymore? That's fine if your intent is to boot users, I just want to know, that's all.

It's just part of SiftBot's master plan to take over the human world and overrun it with his minions of robotic/computerized creations. I guess he's seen The Matrix a few too many times, but interpreted it as documentary rather than sci-fi, and plans to harvest all of us humans as energy to run his electronic armies around the globe. I guess he can't harvest us all at the same time, so he has a list of individuals in the order he plans to harvest us. I interpret his message as his saying that you should be aware that you may be moved to the top of this so-called "harvest-first list" to be part of his first crops when his overthrow of humanity commences.

I've always done my best to tip-toe around SiftBot and so far it's kept me on the harvest-second list.
