Does the Sift Seem Faster?
We just implemented some database load balancing today which, from what I can tell, sped up page load a bit, but I was just wondering if the Sift has also started to seem faster for you.
For the interested, our database is our #1 bottleneck because the site has so many intricacies and allows for so many user customizations, so it's always the primary cause of our usually less than speedy page loads. We are hoping that by splitting our database across two beefy servers, there will be a much welcomed improvement in average load time.

Fast and smooth.
man, if only there was like a speaker attached, so you could get like a beeping sound as it sped up.
We definitely need more race car sounds on this site.
Would these changes be the reason why @siftbot didn't post a member profile comment on my page saying one of my videos went Top 15 yesterday?

I win!
My connection is too flaky to tell.
And I'm moving in a week so I haven't bothered calling support.
How do I time my page load?

FYI- the "generated" time has nothing to do with your connection nor your computer. It's not how long the data takes to reach you; it's the amount of time the Sift servers took from the time they received your page request to the time they finished generating the content to respond to your request before ultimately sending it to you.
Obviously, even with greater overall response times, some page loads are occasionally a little laggy, but hopefully for the most part, the majority of users are experiencing a bit of a speed-up the majority of the time.
^I know, I was just trying to start a flamewar.

If you have access to DATA and SCIENCE that will TELL YOU if things are going faster, why would you ask us?
Thanks for the effort, though! favorite site!
Voting for this poll ended with the majority of users voting Yes, either sometimes or on every page load.
Seems the same to me and I missed the poll!
Mine says:
