Killing Them Softly - final scene

my15minutes says...

loved it in the theater 8 years ago, but only sifted and self-*promoted now cuz i've had this scene in my head all day, knowing that tonight was the first presidential debate of 2020.

great cast, too. and 1 of the 3 movies (this, The Mexican, and True Romance) featuring Pitt and Gandolfini, all 3 of which i adore.

ps. her name was Sally Hemings, in the hopefully unlikely event that you didn't already know. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Don't dump your kids at the skatepark

newtboy says...

Same goes for the movie theater. It's not a daycare, don't dump your kids to watch movies all day on one ticket. They are not well behaved little angles, they're disrespectful little bastards that you're actively teaching to steal.

I hope these kids parents get charged with neglect and endangerment.

The Video Store - Last Action Hero

I didn't see it in the theater, but watched it on video and thought it was great. Pokes fun at Hollywood action movies, lot of 4th wall jokes. McTiernan should make an anniversary director's cut.

The Video Store - Last Action Hero

Mordhaus says...

Just watched this again recently. I don't know why it tanked at the box office.

Although the director had this to say about it: About the film's failure and critical response, John McTiernan said: "Initially, it was a wonderful Cinderella story with a nine-year-old boy. We had a pretty good script by Bill Goldman, charming. And this ludicrous hype machine got hold of it, and it got buried under bullshit. It was so overwhelmed with baggage. And then it was whipped out unedited, practically assembled right out of the camera. It was in the theater five or six weeks after I finished shooting. It was kamikaze, stupid, no good reason for it. And then to open the week after Jurassic Park--God! To get to the depth of bad judgment involved in that you'd need a snorkel."

I was late to Star Wars, but I fell love with its PC games like X-Wings, TIE Fighters, Dark Forces, etc. I never saw the original movies in theaters until their SEs in college. Better late than never.

I was 7 when it came out, and somehow I managed to see it 17 times in theaters. At least twice, without telling anyone, I rode my bicycle >5 miles down the busiest street in Houston to see it alone. Good times.

I remember seeing Star Wars in the theaters during its first run in the late 70s. I was 10 years old and it was the most incredible, magical, holy-fucking-WOW thing I'd seen in my entire. The pure rush of that movie in that time is impossible to describe, unless you've ever done REALLY good coke. There's only two other movies I've ever watched that generated the same buzz: Pink Floyd: The Wall and Zootopia. Oooooo -- Zootopia! Goddamn, I do love me some Judy Hopps! mmMMM-hmm! I could just take her and ... uhh anyway, yeah, Star Wars was really amazing when it first came out and shit. Listen, I'll be back in awhile, I gotta go watch something...

A remarkably good analogue of the political theater that we are treated to on a daily basis... Can't decide which one is Trump the Chump and which is Fancy Nancy...

Joe Biden's Crime Bill In his own words.

newtboy says...

Bwaaahahaha.
Oh Bobby. Did bad man make Bobby cwy hurt?
Edit: It's OK Bob, I know you care more than you can ever admit. I even care about you, even though I'm >90% sure you are a troll farm with multiple users posting as one with ulterior motives...maybe because that's who you are.
I care, because truth is important and you are a vocal enemy of truth.

You really want to talk about "his own words" when you side with unapologetically self admitted daughter lusting, serial philanderer, pornstar raw dogging, woman debasing and dehumanizing, forceful and proud repeated finger raping, friend's wives fucking, prostitute fucking, naked little girl leering, charity defrauding, student defrauding, biggest loser Trump (all admitted to by his own words) vs shoulder rubbing grandpa Biden? Oh yeah, let's do it.

For every word flub Biden makes, and there are many, Trump flubs 50 words. For every misstatement of fact by Biden, and he does misstate some facts, Trump outright lies to the public 100 times (then says he's under no obligation to tell the truth if he's not under oath), for every unwanted touch accusation against Biden, Trump has >25 sexual assault accusations. For every mea culpa from Biden over behavior that is only inappropriate by today's standards but not contemporarily we get 100 excuses and victim blaming with constantly changing excuses from Trump. You REALLY don't want this to be a contest of character....Trump's character loses that contest every single time and thrice on Sundays.

Trump called this crime bill too soft and lenient.

Lol. I'm the troll! Ahahahahaha! I'm not the one running a sock puppet theater. LMFAHS.
Your desperation is showing again.

Newt - give it up you a troll for the hardest of the leftest. Radical Anti cop, ANTIFA friend. Take that chip off you shoulder and you might just see America IS great.

Bob, you're an integral part of systemic racism. Without ignorant closet racists like you incessantly defending systemic racism, it would not exist. Sadly, your ilk does exist, so so does systemic racism.

Hmmm...fail yourself but blame others.....who does that sound like? (Hint, AKA Twitler)

Like your joke of a leader, you with your sock puppet theater are a farce.

This social contract is this :
Stay married,
Stay in school.
Don't get in trouble.
Learn and get ahead.
You fail yourself but blame others.
You are the sum total of you decisions.

She and those who think like her are damned to be failures, pimped out by false Democrat promises that does nothing to help.

Troll boy,

You are on the wrong side of truth. Democrats have ZERO, Always had ZERO and will only have ZERO shit against Trump. All they have are fake stories being pushed by fake news.
The Adam Schiff and Nadler shows were a joke. No facts just theater for the media to feed pinhead sheep like you your daily dose of Anti Trump propaganda.

Trump is wining the battles and will win Democrats war. Trump will win in 2020.

100% Russian propaganda from the Kremlin tied propaganda network.

So much for the excuse that the investigation didn't happen so there's no bribery, right? Apparently it's been ongoing since Giuliani started pushing them in 2016, but the prosecutor investigating was just fired, having found no Biden crimes, so a new investigation can start with a focus on Biden, who's not accused of anything criminal, his boss is.

Bobski, if receiving money from corrupt Ukrainians is a problem, it's one Trump has far worse than Biden....who won't be the nominee anyway. Trump as president directly took truckloads of Ukrainian money from Russian tied Ukrainian separatists, our enemies, (they've been forced to admit it) then did their bidding, firing an ambassador that stopped some of their corruption.

Biden worked for a company run in part by a man that had previously been accused of using his Ukrainian government position to self deal, a crime that's exactly like what the Trumps have done in China, Scotland, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Canada, and elsewhere. His father, Joe, as part of an official public bipartisan American and international policy then pushed to remove the corrupt prosecutor that man had bribed to drop the corruption case. It's asinine to pretend he pushed to remove the prosecutor to protect his son or his son's boss, to do that he just needed to sit back and let the corrupt prosecutor stay. Only morons repeat this nonsense.

Facts? You don't understand the term, obvious from your posting anything from OAN, the Kremlin's news network that hires Kremlin employed propagandists. *facepalm
