The Peanut Butter Falcon | Featurette "Zack's Story"

Saw this yesterday - it was good. Cute story, some solid comedy, not particularly corny or saccharine. Worth seeing, though certainly doesn't require a theater viewing.

Trump Commits A Crime To Lie About Dorian Hitting Alabama

You Know It's a Quentin Tarantino Film IF...

BSR says...

I saw Once Upon A Time In Hollywood at the theater. I found myself smiling pretty much through the whole movie. Whether it was the dialog or the way the camera shots were done or the characters or all the memories from that era, Tarantino is truly one of a kind. I will watch it again because there is so much I'm sure I missed in just one sitting.

I love all things Tarantino films.

How do I actually post something?! (Wtf Talk Post)

MicrowaveMeShow says...

The video I was attempting to share wasn't one of mine, but from another YouTube channel (the red hot nickel ball guy, not sure if you've heard of him). I tried another one of a haunted theater in Pennsylvania to see maybe if it was that his channel was banned or something (since I know the red hot nickel ball guy is kind of a meme due to his popularity he once had). The haunted theater video didn't work either.

Hopefully it's fixed now and I can submit the video. Thanks for looking into this!

Trump Getting Trolled In London

Tip of the day: SHUT THE FUCK UP

BSR says...

A wise man once said to the police, "these are not the droids you're looking for."

He was talking to the cops in the movie theater.

Who knew?

Indeed, never talk to the police.

Captain Disillusion (CD) on Resolution

spawnflagger says...

his timeline of growing resolutions ends with IMAX 70mm film - but historically that was used in cameras and theaters before many of the others he mentioned, and is now mostly abandoned in favor of digital projection.
8k is dumb. 4k only makes sense if you have a screen over 100".

Green New Deal: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

BSR says...

Don't leave the theater until the end credits roll.

The older I get, the more fatalist I become about climate change.

Honestly, we've missed the boat on this. We're fucked and there's nothing we can do about it.

And anyone who says that you can make a difference is talking out their arse. The actual useful things you can do are:

1: have less (preferably no) children. This dwarfs any other action you can take by a factor of 5.
2: Switch to a plant-based diet
3: Stop flying

Ok, 1 is not going to happen. People are still having kids and there hasn't even been any serious public debate about this (despite it being the single most impactful thing any individual can do).

2 and 3 will help, but nowhere near enough.

The ONLY thing that could have saved us is what Extinction Rebellion are proposing: attack climate change on a total war footing. Convert the entire economy over to fixing this.

And it needed to happen a decade ago.

But our leaders ignored this, and now it's too late.

I feel bad for anyone who has kids, but frankly, I'm just hoping the worst of it doesn't kick in until I've kicked the bucket.

I went to Austin's Alamo Draft House theater to see *related=https://videosift.com/video/Holy-Weapon-Final-Battle-Scene

in the 90's, among other insanity they played a preview for God of Gamblers then, it looked great.

They Shall Not Grow Old | Official Trailer ...

SFOGuy says...

saw it on Monday Dec 17th, 2018.
It's magnificent.
Unbelievable labor of love by Peter Jackson to create a remarkable tribute to his grandfather and an entire generation's experience of a terrible, terrible war.

There is a rumor that since every single show currently scheduled has sold out---it's going to get a release into more theaters again in 2019. And...btw, because of a missed deadline, it won't be eligible for an Oscar.

Tom Cruise Hates Motion Smoothing

jimnms says...

I should watch it as the film makers intended. Do film makers intend to make me sick? I literally feel nauseous when watch movies on a big screen in the theater at 24fps. It's not as bad on TV's though. It's one of the reasons I don't go to theaters.
