Rent: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

luxintenebris jokingly says...

visited a site that calculated a person's time of death.

what fun.

then noticed the driver's license and library card both expired within a couple of months of the predicted demise.

it's a coincidence - right?

Ignoring your total ignorance of recent history to point out, Joes favorability rating on his state of the Union address was 78%.
78% Bob. 30% higher than Trump’s best poll.
Failure Trump never got 50% approval on anything, and today rates around 30% and falling fast as he supports Putin’s invasion and hates on America, as his obvious attempts to subvert democracy and steal the presidency are exposed in courts, as his total failures as a businessman are exposed through the courts.

This is you pick. This is you guy? I can only hope he’s the 2024 candidate. It won’t be a blue wave, it won’t be a blue tsunami, it will be a blue sea level rise…and likely a red demise.
ROTFLMFAHS! So gratifying watching your anti American hate group lose its power.

Putin didn't invade under Trump. He did however invade with sleep Joe behind the wheel.

Guess Biden is Putin's bitch.
How's Biden favorably rating doing?

GOP Purging Anyone Who Won't Embrace Trump's Election Lies

like lesions that won't heal.

the goofiness of hearing the goldfish and his crackers spouting 'rhino' referring to a decades-long officeholder is too rich - or in ditzy don's case - too poor to be believed.

when Vader's daughter (no offense to the 'real' Leia) is the moral conscience of the party, it's truly beyond the pale. and the GOP is as pale as it gets.

bk33 has to be baiting (or just jim jones'ing)*. to t.t.'s bleat - what is he going on about? find it impenetrable (ala lead-lined).

* 'tho from his lips to GOD's ears. would love to witness the demise of the NRA and GOP in this lifetime.

Trump Impeached

Please don't misconstrue my abhorrence of today's republican party as an endorsement of the democratic party....but there's no question which is worse imo. I've said for decades that I would vote republican if only they would. I didn't leave the republican party, it left me.

'They weren't the only ones sticking it to democrats' isn't an argument, defense, or excuse...it's a dodge imo. Americans are allowed to participate in political propaganda (if they do it legally), other nations aren't. Russian intelligence hacked democrats at Trump's public request to help him. Period.

As for who is G2, "Working off the IP address, U.S. investigators identified Guccifer 2.0 as a particular GRU officer working out of the agency’s headquarters on Grizodubovoy Street in Moscow."

I totally agree citizens United (i mean the court ruling bearing that name) put a poison pill in all of our political cups. I would support any candidate who I believed would make a constitutional amendment fixing that priority one, for any and every office high to low. Sadly i don't know of one from any party.
Selling our political system to corporations and billionaires can only end in it's demise.

it wasn't the Russians that leaked to Wikileaks that the Clinton campaign rigged the election campaign, it was an internal staffer that was pissed in 2016. The second so called hack of Podesta's emails by fishing by G2 we dont know the origin yet. but we do know the first leak in the election to wikileaks came from a staffer in the DNC to report on rigging.

Capitalism Didn’t Make the iPhone, You iMbecile

vil says...

Capitalism (or the slow demise of feudalism, serfdom, slavery, bigotry and the middle ages in general) made science and progress possible.

It is a common misconception that rights and freedoms are useful in their own right. Its really up to individual people what they do with what they get.

Socialism is a step back because it tries to tell you what you should and should not do, thus limiting your freedoms and possible progress. There should always only be as much socialism as is morally acceptable.

Wait for it

I'm completely certain there are non-pedophile billionaires willing to purchase his demise.

Hell, I can think of at least one lower-middle-class Western Canadian man who'd chip in a $50.

It's certainly one of the easier "conspiracy theories" to believe. There were almost certainly a number of powerful people who wanted what Epstein knew to remain secret, and were thrilled that he died. It's super plausible that someone would arrange for him to be killed. Hell, there could've been competing hit-persons all trying to get the job done first for their particular wealthy child-diddling client.

Compare that to something like flat earth - why the fuck would anyone bother to hide that? Who would actually benefit from conspiring to make people think the earth is round rather than flat?

This is an argument contrary to the plethora of Conspiracies swirling around our societal hurricane, instead proclaiming that this can be fixed with the correct motivations and gatekeepers, which have been kept at bay by the pursuit of profits.

So what about the Illuminati/Bilderberg Group, (4) extra-terrestrial alien interventions, lizard people, FEMA-Camp culling, Trump a complete puppet of Putin? Still seeking evidence. Perhaps our demise has been less coordinated beyond their love of money .

Agreed and double thank you my friend. My day began learning of the demise of my newest favorite YT cat in a most horrific way. I'm still devastated and cry at the drop of a hat. This video has been the only thing to tip the balance slightly back toward center. So ... I needed a pick me up

16 seconds: The Killing of Anita Kurmann

Buttle says...

I reviewed the policy before posting, and concluded that this video does not qualify as snuff. Death is not presented as entertainment. Although the entire video is essentially about a single death and its causes and effects, the actual moment of Dr. Kurmann's demise is just one short but disturbing part.

newtboy said:

True, but that's not all it says....
The presence of human fatality is acceptable and not considered "snuff" if presented as a limited, incidental portion of a lengthy educational, informative news report or documentary that encompasses a much broader narrative. Our definition of "snuff" does include but is not exclusive to any short clip in which a human fatality occurs whether or not any victims are actually visible on camera.

As the fatal accident was the central point of the video and not incidental, and the video may or may not be considered lengthy and or news, I thought it a reasonable question to pose to the community.
To clarify, it was intended as a question not an accusation.

Baby Raccoons toy with angler

Ashenkase says...

You can hear the road near by. Mom probably met here demise there as you would never see cubs on their own with out Mama putting up a massive stink.

Racoons are mostly nocturnal as well so its not common to see them out and about in broad daylight.

Hope this guy took them in or found a shelter for them.

Rogue One vs. The Force Awakens The Fault in Our Star Wars

Jinx says...

There is some nice action in the second half, but yeah, the ending failed to have any emotional impact apart from the wisecracking droid's demise. The scene with Vader at the end was also pretty ace too. Otherwise pretty bland, but at least it wasn't cringe like the prequels.

I think he was actually being quite kind to these films, especially Rogue One. Rogue One was a travesty. However, i did only watch the first half before i couldn't watch anymore.
