Yoko Ono covers Katy Perry's "Fireworks"

A-mazomg and horrid, the fearless Yoko.

I sincerely hope that it is just some sort of meta-art and the real point is to show that we are prone to accept anything in the name of seeming high-brow.

I would not have clapped were I in the room

She is the anti-Lennon.
There was a reason John and her got together - opposites and all attracting.

Now excuse me while I go clean out my ears with an egg beater.

I wonder what her point is, assuming there is a point. Is this just absurdism? Commentary on fame, celebrity, music, pop music? Is she mocking high art society? Is it a John Cage 'art is what you put your frame around' kind of thing? Is she purposely provoking the audience? Daring them to laugh? Are these supposed to be gutrural sounds of raw humanity? Does she hate the song or Katy Perry? Too much booze? I never really get where she is coming from.

She hates the song with passion, this much is obvious. That is why I love this, I haven't ever heard the original but I know I like this version better - even if it makes my skin crawl but not the good kind... like a good Throbbing Gristle song.

nope, this is freakin hilarious, she's a comedic genius. It's made even better by the fact that the piano playing is so bog standard.

*edit* OK turns out the piano was added after as a joke, there's a version of this with the star spangled banner, with Adele etc... In reality she sang this acapella. I'm kind of disappointed now.. but I have to admit I did laugh.

Am I the only one who burst out laughing?
