Protecting and serving with man's best friend

Man has face bitten by a police dog, after cops order him to simultaneously hold his hands up and stand up from his low-lying couch.

His crime? Burning a christmas tree in his backyard.

If this doesn't make you feel a bit sick then you might consider K-9 work as a career. It's ugly.

Clearly he was armed with the intent to kill some officers. The officer was only protecting himself by staying back and releasing the dog, because invisible knives are a thing. Then they carefully handled the suspect because they totally cared that he was in shock, including a complimentary wooden chair drop to the face which led to another wound.

Kudos to these outstanding officers for taking this dangerous criminal off the street. Santa doesn't like it when you burn his trees.

At least he wasn't black??

That man has every right to take a yard rake to that cops face. How are there not more retaliatory attacks on police after shit like this?

I hate cops with a passion. Things are getting worse, my town has militarized the police with humvees with 50 caliber turrets. All police with AR15's and 5 K9's and my town only has 2 redlights and a population of 2000.

This is getting out of hand. The next Civil War will be people vs pigs. And hell I have coronary artery disease, I'm not going to live a long life anyhow, I'll definitely take some pigs out when pushed. I'd love to see pigs exploding in gta5 style blood spray

...Because apparently cops have become so cowardly that now, a man sitting calmly and still with his empty hands raised and visible makes them feel fear for their lives and ready to use deadly force (2 inches lower and that bite would have killed him), then they have the audacity to harass him in his hospital bed telling him how wrong he was for sitting still (not apologizing for violently attacking a calm, still man over a backyard fire).
God damn, I can't quite agree with @shang, but I can certainly understand how he feels.

This is truly bad, because the violence seems so transparently pointless, almost as though the dog cop thought "Pyro here" ("Fluffy" and "Blitzkrieg" must have been taken) "Pyro seems kind of listless, he needs some exercise, like ripping this poor bastard's face off."
And the little chat they have with him afterwards is almost as bad, in a "come here honey and give your abuser a nice kiss" kind of way.

Sure, the cops are responsible for their violence, and for their part in holding up the blue wall, but complicity does not end there. There's the busybody, either hateful or clueless, that called the cops in the first place. There are the legion of lawyers and judges that have carved out a gaping officer safety exception to the constitution. And, finally, because even a police state can't operate without the consent of most of the governed, there is the rest of us, anyone who has supported a candidate, or voted for one, because he promises lawn order uber alles.

We got your lawn order right here.
