Sorry, had to downvote..the only assholes I can detect are the apparently self-righteous one's that made this video (surprisingly, one of the scriptwriters is a woman).

I'm with @Lawdeedaw on this--the (intentional?unintentional?) message here is that it's women's fault bad things happen to them... if only they gave total strangers with awkward come-ons a chance they could avoid all that abuse!

I guess more than anything I'm annoyed by the movie's title. For sure there are vapid, superficial women like this out there but they're not representative of the gender as a whole. In fact, I'd say shit like this probably applies waaaaay more to men than women (i.e. willing to overlook major red-flags about potential character flaws just because the female is hot and there's a chance for sex).

VoodooVsays...

eh, I wouldn't look into it quite so much.

so much of our current culture usually portrays women to be better than men. They're typically portrayed as smarter, more mature, etc etc. When in reality they can be douchebags just like the rest of us.

equality cuts both ways

just seems like you're nitpicking a fun video just because of the title. I suspect if you asked the creator of the video, they probably don't seriously believe all women are assholes.

You got the corny part right. Sorry you were so butt-hurt by @Lawdeedaw's and my opinions of the video you felt the need to downvote both of us.

Here I thought it was just a corny joke about how attractive people get preferential treatment. Thanks to @SDGundamX and @Lawdeedaw for helping me find the humanity-loathing misery cleverly concealed beneath the surface.

Ah the sad face of equality, women getting to be the butt of the joke again...

It's not sexist, it's equal...

American women from the last two generations have turned into assholes trying to act like the vapid bitches on television is what the shit looks like to me...That and the overall decline in quality-of-life in-general in the U.S.

I blame to a large extent the popularity of craptacularly untalented gangster rappers and the ghettofication of culture by marketing assholes. The same assholes who want us to pay for their (entertainment) shit rather than use it and throw it the fuck away like it's quality deserves. You stole our souls, now I steal your media content.

The same assholes who have glorified names like Fendi, Prada, etc. and made that bullshit household names. I blame television mainly, it's fucking poison for the mind and soul.

It's homogenization of a culture through marketing as a means of slavery and control, it's insidious, pervasive, and terminal.

@VoodooV

Well, I could see your point if there was any sort of allusion in the video to how women are portrayed in the media/culture. But there isn't any that I can notice. And on top of that the title implies all women are like this--it doesn't matter what the creators believe in real life, it's the title they chose for the video.

I suppose this video struck a nerve with me because back in my single days I used to do a lot of clubbing (2-3 times a week most weeks) and I always went with a group of friends, mostly female. While some of those female friends were single, they just wanted to go and have a few drinks and dance--they weren't looking to make a "love connection."

Of course, guys don't know that and so of course they're going to make an approach, but some of them (admittedly usually fueled by too much alcohol) just wouldn't take a hint. Like the supposedly "nice" guy in this video, even after being politely told that the woman has no interest in them would come back and try again. And yeah, my female friends would find that shit creepy! Because, in general, the guys approaching them are physically bigger and stronger than them and the ones that don't take the hint (again fueled by the alcohol) tend to stand way too close. In a dark club, it can be very intimidating, especially if the female in question gets separated from her friends (ie she's coming back from the dance floor or the restroom) and has a guy who isn't taking a hint pressing up on her.

So basically, based on my personal experience, I don't find the premise of the video funny. I don't empathize with the "nice" guy because the awkward pickup line and inability to take a hint remind me of the guys my friends used to have to put up with. And also because I find the whole "he's a stalker but it's okay because he's cute" thing so incredibly implausible and demeaning to women, as its implied all women are like this. I suppose if the title were "Asshole Girls" I'd find this video somewhat more funny because the character in question basically then becomes a victim of her own assholish-ness (and not "women's assholish-ness" as a whole) by willingly throwing herself into the arms of her stalker.

coolhundsays...

They are very representative of women, simply because there are so many of them. And that is not really a surprise, since the whole society is based on superficiality. There are also many men that are that way, but they are much more open about it, which in turn these women dont like.
So the video is very good at showing this stupidity.

Isn't that basically the point? The title should be better but the central point that I thought it was making is that women can be shallow and stupid too, that this male-associated behaviour is also done by some women.

Yessir, males don't get a pass at all in fact, the declining character of the the last 2 gens of male representatives of the species in western civilization have caused the keepers of the ova to recoil from relationships and children, embittering and alienating them. Some embrace lesbian relationships out of emotional necessity as a means of avoiding the cycle of poor-quality hetero partner defeats and heartbreaks while a large majority have quite the dildo collection (as well as lubes and beads, maybe some harnesses).

It is a constant force from abuse on all fronts that tends to cause the weak to spiral into madness...most likely, by design.
Society in decline peoples, best of and worst of times.

Sweet zombie Jebus, a lot of you people need to get a sense of humor. Those upset at this video need to take a good look at themselves and get a grip, it's a f**king joke...based on the reality that women are nearly as focused solely on physical attractiveness as men are, even though they usually try hard to deny it and often degrade men for doing it.

SDGundamXsays...

Well, you call it over-analyzing, I call it critically examining the sub-text of the popular media I consume.

I laughed really hard at this video. Why? Because it took a stereotype we're all familiar with, inflated it to absolutely absurd levels and made a mockery of it. (Just like their other video...) If that's not comedy, I don't know what is.

And it also had a guy getting maced in the face. That's CERTAINLY comedy gold.

chingalerasays...

Hey man-I have seen absurd levels of this stereotype played-out in real life by a few 25-year-old females I know personally who have no problems with taking it to about 3 levels beyond that of the actresses in this video.

Tell me it's not some cruel joke of the cosmos and I'll call you after you've woken up and had breakfast.

You're awesome.

In other news, the mace to the face, that made me LOL and I'm sure @deathcow supports my right to laugh if I want to, but doesn't approve of said laughter.
