Anonymous warns of "Operation Facebook" on Nov 5 2011

At least they've given Facebook plenty of warning...

At most they'll accomplish a 1 day mandatory Facebook vacation. Which is sure to enrage some OCD virtual farmers. At least it's a step up from trolling small childrens on Habbo Hotel.

lol...I know right. Well if this is 'real' then they've thrown the dice. If they fail then it will hurt their credibility. I think its a win-win. They succeed and Facebook is dead or if they fail then their credibility is where it should be.

I have to admit that I think the concept/idea of anonymous is cool, it just seems that they're always doing pointless and meaningless crap like this. Oh noes youre taking down facebook....try a goal with a more significant impact, because honestly, you shouldnt be putting any private info on FB anyway.

POssible results of Facebook attack:

1. Increased security.
2. Increased security and the focus of FB billions towards stomping ANon (which would be ironic because than they would be giving the FBI all kinds of private info in order to hunt them down...which come to think of it is why this is happening anyway)
3. FB shutdown for a day or week or something only to be revived with....Increased Security.
4. Increased privacy for the user....lol j/k just some more increased security.

Wait...what? Crap, I think my account is getting hacked...

Privacy on Facebook is only an issue if you put your private stuff on Facebook. And if you put your private stuff on Facebook, then it's not really private then is it. It's called SOCIAL NETWORKING. You are willingly sharing your information with everyone out there. People need to learn to just keep their shit to themselves.

The problem is that all your friends put up stuff about you and themselves. From there on anyone with that data can make educated guesses about you.

November 5th, really? Okay, those people obsessing over V for Vendetta really need to get over it.

November 5th is the date that Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up parliament in the UK back in 1605, Brits celebrate the occasion every year and it's hard to find someone who doesn't recognise the phrase "Remember remember the fifth of November". I don't think Anonymous chose the date because of a film, I believe it was chosen because of the significance of the date from a historical perspective.

That, and the movie. Mostly the movie.
