Any idea where these are taken? I thought they generally orientated airstrips so that you always got a direct headwind. Unless these are like extreme condition landing training scenarios or something?

If it's not a 747 tell me what it is because am no avonics expert!

I believe these were taken from a documentary, these landings are testing extreme condition landing conditions as you said.
