Should Brief Videos Be Considered Three Minutes or Less In Duration?
I propose that the brief tab be expanded to include all three-minutes-or-less-videos.

Brief is fine the way it is.
If we want to change it, I propose that brief is < 2 minutes and we make a "supershort" < 20 sec. I've already marked a bunch that way in the tags, but the supershorts are really quick jokes and such and I think it's really useful.
^Interesting proposition that would eventually lead to and differentiate between long/10- and time-kill/1 hour+ lengths.
if it's like 1:00 or 1:01 I might still put it as brief. Especially if there's a couple seconds of an intro or something and the content falls under a minute.
I know! Let's replace brief and long with...
*1min
*2min
*3min
*4min
*5min
*6min
*7min
*8min
*9min
and *long!
Is it really that crucial to have tags for everything? You can see exactly how long a clip is by pressing the miniaturized video window, and it takes a second to do. What exactly is lost by clicking a video and finding out it's longer than you'd like to spend on it?
A) No one is voting to make a tag for everything.
B) According to your premise, it would take (and cost) just a tad over a second every time.
C) I think it would be very handy to have 3 or 4 time frame tags; mini, short, long, and epic.

I'm surprised to see this coming out so lopsided.
I actually use video length to sort when I want to watch them.
If it's Brief, I usually watch it right away if I'm interested. If I check the length, and it's under 3 minutes, I usually watch it right away as well.
If it's "normal", I usually open it in a tab to come back to later when I have a little more time to watch videos. Ditto for videos that are barely "long" (10-20 minutes, say).
If it's real long, like 30-60 minutes or more, I usually bookmark it to watch when I feel like setting aside a big block of time to clear my backlog of long videos.
I'd love to see brief get changed to 2-3 minutes, and have us add a "reallylong" or something similar for videos that are over 20-30 minutes.
^Exactly!
What NetRunner and MrFisk proposed are ideas I could get behind.
How would adding a letterbox where the sifter can add the exact time sound to you? That would certainly make things clearer, not to mention more precise.
I still like them turtles.
Poll anyone?
My vote is for 1:13 or less.
I know for a fact some people do it as a joke or their is "something up their ass" about the fact a "brief" video might be 1:05 and it'll be "un-briefed"
2 minutes and under should be a brief in my opinion.
^ But then people will complain that their videos got unbriefed cos it was 2 mins 1 second. So we'll move it to 3 minutes and then someone will complain because................
A lot of the time, i'm only interested in the brief videos.
I find that 1 minute is an acceptable time loss. There's a lot of shit that gets sifted through the comedy channels that are borderline car crashes, usually from college humour. At least if it's only 1 minute long i can see and register it nice and early, and if i don't then i haven't lost much.
I genuinely don't want to sit through 3 minutes of utter tripe just to find out a comedy tag has been misplaced. One minute's brilliant. Get another tag for 1.01 to 3 mins perhaps? *short anyone?
By the way. "I could care less" means you care about something. If you could NOT care less, then your care level is so low that it couldn't go any lower. I keep saying it, but i feel it's my nazi duty.
There are a lot of <= 1 minute. Keep it that way please.
Voting for this poll ended with the majority of users voting No, one minute or less is perfect..
