WTF Moment: GOP Seeks to Rename Democratic Party

From 5/13/2009.

The story about the Republicans being close to passing a resolution to rename the democratic party is interesting. But holy shit I can't listen to Olbermann rant for that long.

Ah yes, the GOP. They are like Shakespear when it comes to words. I mean who else would put GOP Party on a ballot instead of Republican? That's just genius. They really know how to change things up...just like AIG. I mean AIU. I mean VALIC.

"They can't be that stupid." KO, You vastly underestimate the depths of stupidity the GOP can dredge.

Anyone else getting sick of hearing "socialism" being bandied about as if it's a dirty word? Socialism != Communism no matter how hard the GOP tries to equate the two.

Can rename the republican party to the douche bag party?

Only if you do the same to the democrats. Same group, same cut.

Then again, I don't think most people understand how political conventions work. You can propose just about anything, and every standing member can laugh your ass out of the hall over it too.

Maybe we can rename the video title to: "Olbermann dredging a partist ballot, while failing to understand conventions." Personally I don't think he's that stupid. He's just another flapping head.

^ There's understanding, and there's understanding.

The whole damn segment is titled "WTF Moment" -- it's supposed to be about ridiculous and meaningless things.

Like the things Republicans think are important right now. In other words, "What types of slanderous names should we call our opposition?"

^Much smarter than Beck, and certainly a milder flavour of douche.

And KO doesn't knowingly lie to his viewers in order to make them fear their government, arm themselves, and start assassinating people from the opposing party, or with a different political philosophy.

I have a hard time watching KO, but to equate him with Beck is out there.

American Politics is tame compared to politics in other parts of the world. What to call the opposition? Beh. Talking heads should be more directed on more pertinent events that actually mean something, rather then things that actually distract people. Oh wait...and you wonder why things never get done in the US. Or wonder why you get laws shoved up your ass?

It doesn't come close to classifying as WTF, and I still maintain that. Having been to several political conventions. You won't believe what you'll get that's beyond what the 'line' should or shouldn't be. I'd be more concerned if the GOP was going for something like this:

Res 421: Measure to impose direct pole tax on party memberships.
Res 427: Lateral support from caucus groups(insert here) to open dialog with groups diametrically opposed to guiding philosophy.

Otherwise this is the worst kind of crap. I'm a card carrying member of the CPC(that's Canadian Conservative Party(insert scary music)). They're further to the left then the democrats, and I think that both sides down in the US are completely screwed up along with the entire voting electorate because you've successfully managed to let yourselves get led along by the media who promote frivolous issues.

Note to self: Canadians aren't as perpetually friendly as they would have us believe. Suspect they are hiding something, maybe Socialism?

Beware of free public hospitals. For they are clean, have sparkles, and occasionally require you to pay income tax. Getting a family doctor? Bit more of a pain.
