Truck Split in Half by Train (aka Turn your Volume Down)

Amateur video of a train crashing through a truck trailer in North Carolina has been posted online.

The accident happened on Friday in the city of Kings Mountain, North Carolina.

It is the fourth such collision involving the city's downtown crossings since 2011.

Trucks are prohibited from crossing the railroad tracks due to the danger of catching the bottom of their vehicles on the crossing, which is what seems to have happened on friday.

In the video the driver of the truck tries frantically to get his vehicle off the track as the passenger train approaches.

WHAAAAAAAAAA! COTTTTTON!!!

The sound of a woman screaming hysterically can be heard as the train smashes through the truck's trailer sending its load of cotton through the air.

Local media report that there were no injuries caused by the accident.

wow, she must have really loved that truck. wtf??? The cabin was intact, the guys got out. annoying

Yup its supereasy not being a crybaby about it with several thousand miles between me and the event, which is also watched in hindsight, with the outcome right there in the title. Had I actually been there, and watched a 500 ton freighttrain speeding at 100mph into a bigrig in what looks like a populated neighbourhood, standing some 300ft away, I'm sure I'd be just as calm.

Oh, so you're saying you'd cry and scream like that in that situation? I'm not saying it's not normal to have some reaction. THAT reaction however is a little over the top.

I'm sure you're aware some people are really over dramatic.

We've been desensitised to stuff like this by the internet. It's just another truck on the tracks to us watching safe at home. The reality is that it's a very, very dangerous situation that could very easily ended in someone's death. Her reaction was pretty bloody appropriate. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been quite so vocal, but I can understand how she felt.

Feel free to call me a wuss or whatever, I have a friend who's a train driver so maybe I can empathise with the situation a bit more than you hard men.

Hypothetical reactions? You can't know how you'd react? This is ridiculous. Have you honestly not been in situations like this before?

I know I wouldn't wail like a demented banshee because that isn't how I react to disasters, and it's the same with most people I know and many people I've observed.

It's no good and it serves no purpose. People who react like this are a real liability in situations where action is necessary.

No, I probably wouldnt cry and scream like she did, I'm not a very screamy person, but I would probably be pretty scared and stuff. Everybody reacts differently, thats not the point, the point is that her "extreme" reaction comes at a pretty extreme situation, and I dont blame her for panicking.
