Yeah, I refuse to watch a trailer for a trailer... what the fuck!? We're going to have teaser trailers for the trailer of the trailer next. It's insane.

"Coming soon, the teaser for the trailer of the trailer for the movie that will be coming out after the trailer that the teaser is teasing about the trailer for has."

And then:

"Now, see a frame of the teaser for the trailer of the trailer for the movie which the trailer is of, which will be, when, but after, not before, the teaser which is of the trailer of the... um... the... aww fuck it, it's a movie for fuck's sake, it needs A TRAILER, and that'll do"

I really hope this doesn't suck. The thing about Philip K. Dick's writing is that it's smart. He asks big and interesting questions and presents them in exciting but though-provoking scenarios. Most adaptations of his work have been straight-up action flicks, which are usually terrible. The Schwarzenegger version was actually one of the better ones, but the big questions are overshadowed by the fact that it's an Arnold movie, with all that entails.

The gold standard is still Blade Runner, and that's the stick by which I'll be measuring this film.

Like I said, I hope it doesn't suck.

I think the reason the original was actually one of the better Dick adaptations was Paul Verhoeven. Notorious pervert, yes, but the man can direct.

Again with the remakes... jesus, get some originality, hollywood. Granted the original movie was an adaptation but it was it's own unique Verhoven/Arny masterpiece. This'll no doubt be some Len Wiseman/Colin Farrell dreck

A Scanner Darkly rates. Minority Report would have been better w/o Cruise. Next??

I'm not sure Total Recall should be remade. The original was just too good. Also wtf this film is not yet rated? Are they pushing for a PG-13?!...

I heard the next target is a total reboot of the Home Alone series with Macauley Culkin, but this time as a strung out adult who actually kills the invaders and keeps them from installment to installment.

I'm perplexed that no-one here is pointing out that the original PKD story was really short.... and had alien mice, and was called 'We can remember it for you wholesale'. The Total Recall movie took the tiny nugget and spun a whole thing from it.

Depending on whether this is more based on the movie or the short story it can veer off in all sorts of directions.

But being that it's directed by the Underworld guy and Beckansale is in it, it'll be crap
