grintersays...I wonder if the cat knows how to hit "cancel"?
Enzobluesays...I wonder if they have a working model. The one in this clip is CG. I like the concept, but seems like a lot of electronics very near a lot of heat.
westysays...kinda cool ,
strangley i have found gass stoves to be the best over all the stoves i have ever used ,
this would be allot cooler if it aplied the same concept but used gass soem how ruting it around the table lol
MarineGunrocksays...Nope. No tech tag. I tried to make one like two years ago but got shot down because there's "too much overlap between geek and science."
Good thing we've since created a jazz, country, rock and roll, classical, electronica, hip hop, livemusic, obscure, metal, blues and even Celtic.
Oh, what? You tell me that we also have a "music" channel? Well that's just going too far.
Seriously. I get shot down for a tech channel and yet we have a "wilhelm" channel (no offense to YDJ. What gives?

Technology can be distinct from science, engineering and geek. I think it would be a nice addition.
As for the music, they all seem to be types of music that have a culture attached to them...perhaps with the exception of electronica but I guess that's the newest one.
It would be neat to properly channel this *Tech.

Yeah, same. It's great to have that instant heat, not having to wait for the coils or whatever to warm up. It's by far the best I've found for things you need a high heat for.
mxxconsays...while concept is awesome, delicate touchscreen near a stove is a bad idea.
all the greese, oils, splatter, heat..i don't know..
also wouldn't induction cooking be even more efficient than this?
sillmasays...Funny thing, gas stoves still rule though.
garmachisays...The only thing I don't understand about this is WHY DON'T I HAVE ONE???
jmdsays...err, there are plenty of touchscreens near food and on cooking apparatuses in the food industry.
dystopianfuturetodaysays...Do want.
Mi1lersays...so if i put my hand on the stove top will it start cooking it unless I hit cancel? Or if I am just using it as counter space will it cook everything?
bamdrewsays...This appears to be an industrial design student's project... so you're right that its an idea.
Typically people don't share this sort of thing online, unless they have a provisional patent, or doubt that the idea will go somewhere in their hands.

Paybacksays...Touchscreens are not all iPhone. My friends have this cooktop, which utilizes "touch screen" tech.
MycroftHomlzsays...wife says "where is the oven. Its not practical without an over."

Good point. ..and I bet those drawers and cabinets right under the stove get uncomfortably warm.
Overall, I think this stove is pretty rock'n. The flexibility to throw a big griddle on there for simultaneous evenly-heated pancake, bacon, and egg cooking, ..while still having a full stovetop of traditionally sized burners when they are needed is quite nice.
I think my biggest worry about this thing would be keeping it looking decent. I house sat for some friends that have a glass-topped stove and even a little drop of water on the bottom of a pan would instantly boil down to a mineral stain that was a pain in the but to remove.
deathcowsays...This thing is awesome. I should render one for my kitchen!
