Every Bitch Must Tip! - The Wiener's Circle

Wiener's Circle is a popular restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. It is best known for its famously abusive staff members.

The best (and some say ONLY) time to visit the Wiener's Circle is Thu, Fri, Sat after 1AM...getting crazier by the minute until 4 or 5AM when the bars let out and the drunken clientele vigorously argues back with the abusive staff.

It's supposed to be all in good fun...but as the video shows their can be a darker side to it.

A video that is a pun on deliciously NSFW, and a poster child for the type of vids that the playlist is for. This needs a *humanitarian channel tag. Who thought you would have it in Chicago? Or is that exactly the kidn of thing you would expect there? I'll add this to *cooking too. Very different from a typical restaurant. Unique find Grimm, thanks.

This is a vid that exemplifies why unlimited requeues (or at least many per vid) are a Good Idea.

Thanks...I was tempted to do a 3rd requeue but then I got to thinking...maybe it's just me...maybe this isn't a sift worthy video. As you can see in the comments the I actually went ahead and let it expire without a 3rd requeue but due to a glitch in the 3.1 upgrade it didn't get discarded and that was long enough to get it the final 2 votes it needed.

When I first saw this unique hot dog stand on TV it was via Dave Attell's show Insomniac. Because of the nature of the show they only showed the "all in good fun" side of it and it wasn't until I started looking for a clip from that show did I find this one that also shows the darker side.

"Ah, just like mama used to make."

This is actually a nice, cathartic break from the universal social contract of niceties.. unless it devolves into racist lynching behavior -- which is no good for anyone.

Actually, it is the 'Wiener's' circle. It's across the street from my dentist, so I always go there when I get out of the chair. And the employees couldn't be sweeter during the day. Last time I was there, the health department was writing up a citation on them for not having things like soap next to the sink where employees wash their hands. God, I wouldn't know how to begin to explain Chicago.

That is amazing. I worked as a supervisor in retail in a department that often handled numerous complaints that could get quite passionate at times. There were times when you just needed to take a break and walk away from it. For me and the guys/gals who worked for me, it wore on us. I don't see how anyone could do THAT long term.

To note, what surprises me is not the level it escalates to once the rules are removed, but the fact that so many people are drawn to it on a long term basis. Particularly those who are employed there and don't have the choice to stay away from there.

I can see how much fun that would be, but insults about peoples features really arent cool. I missed this when I was in Chicago. Lovely town but I only really saw within a few blocks of Michigan avenue, around the river, Navy pier, Field Museum those kind of touristy places. Partly because I was afraid of wandering into the wrong part of town and ending up on the news.

This really does show the racist, ugly side of some people.

The good natured ribbing is great, but when they start attacking the worker's looks, background etc. That's just not cool. It's not bright people thinking 'Hey man, no rules here, I'm going for it', and having no intelligence to come up with a witty, funny insult, they result to just plain crude and vulgar stuff to try and impress their 'friends'.

sad.

The dogs looked tasty though.

do those people realise how they look when they're all screaming that chocolate milkshake shit?

fuckin animals.. it's all good till it starts going too far.. we have a place near where i live where the staff insult you.. they're extremely witty insults too, but you don't start getting lairy.. engage in witty banter, but step over the line and you're out.. so the technique has its value, but what i saw there was inhuman

(the guy "tipping" the sign was funneh!)

I had a good time up there. Hit the place around 7 or so. Wasn't too packed and they were pretty nice. Still gave a good tip because...fucking cheddar burger!
