Same thing happened here in Port Townsend. Small town, maybe 9000. Expected, hoped for, 50 people. I'm not a good estimator of crowds, no experience at it. but absolutely there were 200 people there. More likely it was 300 or more. There were folks who traveled 50 miles from neighboring towns who didn't want to face the Seattle ferries and Seattle traffic, so they joined us. [UPDATE: Local paper says 1000. 1000!!!]

One cool thing -- the number of men present. They were the minority, as you might expect. But the cool thing -- there were so many of them, they didn't look odd or out of place. They were just part of the crowd. And many men with their daughters.

And these numbers are smaller than they would have been if the flu hadn't laid a lot of people low.

Update on my hometown figures. Our local paper says there were 1000 at the march. ONE THOUSAND. I can't help but think that is overstated. But even if you say "only" 800 -- that is mind blowing.
