kronosposeidonsays...I say this qualifies as an innovative use of *wheels *engineering.
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Engineering, Wheels) - requested by kronosposeidon.
dw1117says...supavasor cat is on yer vakum supavasin da clen up…
StukaFoxsays...How'd they glue that cat to that robot?
popeysays...give that cat a horn
BillOreillysays...it's the newest model CUV (Cat Utility Vehicle)
davidrainesays...That Roomba's work will never be done...
1. Cat rides roomba
2. Roomba cleans dirty room, dragging cat's tail on ground
3. Cat's tail leaves hair all over the ground where it was dragged
4. Goto 2
13439says...Two more levels and he upgrades to a Zamboni.
pierrekrahnsays...I bet that Roomba always falls on its wheels.
jimnmssays...Is it me or is that Roomba going over the same spot? It reminded me of those vacuuming robots from Deus Ex. There was one that messes up, I don't remember if it did it on its own or if it was something you do, but when you come back later in the game it has run over the same spot so many times that there is no carpet left on the floor.
phelixiansays...They stopped the tape at the part when the cat got sucked into the roomba.
Ornthoronsays...Every Roomba needs a dueling harness.

I would imagine the cat's weight would screw up its guidance and propulsion systems pretty badly.
viewer_999says...Cute video (I'm surprised the cat isn't scared off), but those things are pure garbage. Technology-lite reaching too far. A friend has one, and all it does is make a ton of noise, while missing (creating?) dusty corners and crevices. They've since ditched the 'robot' and hired a housekeeper.
11735says...The roomba seems very inefficient... it covers so much of the same area over and over.

Guidance and propulsion systems? We talking vacuums or missiles?
AeroMechanicalsays...As for going over the same spot again, I think that's just how the Roomba works. It just wanders around at random avoiding obstacles. I imagine if they tried to program a more strict program it might be inclined to miss certain parts all the time.
Also, my cat seems to like the video. He is terrified of vacuum cleaners though.
13754says...Actually I think the roomba is being manually controlled by remote. Because normally the robot wont turn until it touches the edge of a wall.
Zonbiesays...You do realise - kitteh knows the contraption is powered by mice - he is just trying to find the hatch
MarineGunrocksays...I just want to know who the fuck is lazy enough to drop hundreds of dollars on what has to be noisy and inefficient just to avoid 5 minutes of the easiest chore on earth.
E_Nygmasays...^the same person who believed the algorithm:
1. buy roomba
2. buy cat
3. ?
4. profit

RhesusMonksays...zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Issykittysays...Nice find! Who knew I would possibly ever have a reason to want to buy a roomba? (Don't worry... I still won't buy one!)
rgroom1says...It's turning circles because of a "Dirt Detect" feature. If sensors pick up heavy soil it will spiral around that spot until there is none left. The cat will not affect the guidance.
I bought a roomba on craigslist for $100. It's great coming home to fresh carpet and being able to sit on your ass after a days work. It's great on hardwood, and corners are the only part of the wall it can't sweep in.
