Road Block - try to cheat traffic poles following the bus

Quboidsays...

Ouch on the last guy, I think that's the passenger as it's a Royal Mail van first which was right hand drive.

How long do you think these guys were looking to knock off their journey time? 30 seconds? 5 minutes? So worth it I'm sure.

It's a good thing that those poles pop up so quickly. Imagine if someone was actually able to get through without a ticket! It's much better to have the drivers trash their car and suffer potentially serious injuries.

This is round the corner from my flat (Manchester), I've seen a car and a fire engine drive into those same poles within the last year. Rather than stem the traffic flow they've created an idiot's accident-hotspot.

What if those people were just following the vehicle in front of them, not knowing these poles would shoot up out of nowhere? I don't think there could possibly be enough adequate signage in the area to warn people that if they follow the bus in front of them that a metal pole will shoot out of the ground and smash their car. It's such an unexpected and dangerous situation, that you couldn't communicate it quickly enough to the average driver. The bus drivers should at least be required to come to a full stop after passing over the poles so drivers behind won't try to chase them.

That said, the first driver who obviously knew about the poles will no doubt soon be found on VideoSift with a "Darwin" tag.

Yep the last guy breaks the windshield with his head. I'd love to hear their explanations when the police show up.

I assume this is a mass-transit only route/lane? That's a really clever idea; we don't have stuff like that here, unfortunately.

...What freekin' genius came up with this!!? Its a hoot to watch, must admit, better than the air up the skirt at the funhouse, but bejeesus! They have to have a camera trained on it, and the guy with the jeopardy button, he's a seasoned copper that has the cushiest desk job!

Why not just have spikes that pop yer rubber?? Cause in whatever country that has these...ya can't sue the city for damage or injury. Brilliant!!!

Not really that funny since these people especially the family in the SUV werent trying to cheat the poles. They most probably had no idea these poles existed and they were simply following the bus. Only the first guy tried to cheat the poles. They should be removed. Too dangerous.

I didnt find the music appropriate. It sort of poked fun at something quite serious.

Could someone post a picture of those huge flashing warning signs that are before the bollards? I'd be interested to know just what they say - how could these people possibly have ignored them?
