There aren’t too many people who I’d be really that impressed to meet. To be perfectly honest/obnoxious I’ve already met most of the people who I ever wanted to meet, or else they’re dead. Just three people come to mind who I’d be humbled to find myself face to face with and all are women: Oprah Winfrey, Patti Smith and Rachel Maddow.

In the above clip, Rachel Maddow shows why she’s such an important, even necessary, figure in the American media. Although David Letterman is obviously throwing her well-intentioned, and respectful softballs, she says here what more sane and responsible people who have an audience should be saying about Fox News, Glenn Beck and Andrew Breitbart: “Scaring white people is good politics on the conservative side of the spectrum.” Bravo, Ms. Maddow, keep it up!!

This should be called "Dave Letterman is Fucking Awesome" maybe. Maddow is solid as usual, but Dave makes more points and rants well.

How do you think this interview would have went if it were Leno?

"Hi Rachel, you say things on tv... I say things on TV too! You have a video screen behind you! I have cars, do you like cars? Here are some Doritos!"

Yeah I'm sure neither of these many times over millionaires aren't worried about the wage-lowering effect of immigration or being passed over because of affirmative action. I'm sure their high-rise apartments and private chauffeurs keep them grounded...

Nope - Maddow goes in the "Kook Shill" pile with Beck, Olbermann, Limbaugh and the rest. Agenda journalism is ugly no matter what side it is on.

Take each persons words and find out if they are true...

The side that is telling the truth is the one you should probably listen to. The side that has been revealed, repeatedly, to be lying and fabricating drama through their teeth should be ignored. No matter which side they are on.

Pretty easy really, children can work that shit out...

You don't think that the fringe that watch Fox feel the exact same way? Seems to me that only the people who are on that fringe would think any of this is "pretty easy". Because wading through all this political bullshit, entertainment media to find truth and compromise is hard. Winston was right.

Speaking strictly about the event they were discussing. Guy edits film to serve his own political agenda, Fox News eats it up and touts it as fact without even investigating, other news organizations investigate and show that the film is doctored.
If reporting based on investigative inquiry and discovering what really happened is "Agenda journalism", then sign me up.
Which part of this is hard to understand?

You mean like how Maddow doctors videos to make Tea Party rallies look like Nazi rallies? Man-faced 'woman' edits film to serve her own political agenda... NY Times, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, AP, Rueters, et al eat it up and tout it as fact without even investigating... Other news organizations investigate and show that the films are doctored. Sound familiar? Maddow is a leftist, partisan, bought-and-paid-for political hack. Brietbart is a right-wing partisan bought-and-paid-for political hack. Anything they have to say has to be taken with more than a grain of salt.

Maddow belongs in the kook shill pile with all other infotainers who act like journalists. Political hacks like Maddow or Breitbart use truth as bunting for their lies sometimes. That doesn't mean you can trust them. The only thing you can trust is that they will serve up "their side" of a story. If your goal is to learn what Democrats want you to think about an issue the watch Maddow. If you want get your daily GOP marching orders, then go read Breitbart.
