Oh wow, I hadn't heard about this. Of course this would have to be on HBO to show even half the shit that went on in the comics.
In spite of that I will be keeping an eye on this one, now we just need to wrangle Simon Pegg into a TV or movie version of The Boys, before he gets too damn old to play the role of his comic book counterpart.

Preacher was too good for this treatment.

I suspect that accent is so cringe-worthy because most Americans have never heard a real accent and associate an Irish one with Lucky Charms. So any reasonably accurate accent is going to be misconstrued as British.

That said, they certainly picked a good character actor to play an insane vampire.

That's the thing. I know that actor.... he was in Misfits and he was great in it.

I hadn't really thought about it before, Statham could definitely work, action and badassery are his bread and butter. And he's a Brit to boot, he doesn't quite look like Butcher though, he looks more like The Frenchman, that might work too.

Naaa Jean Reno is the frenchman. The Female (Of The Species) I think would be the hardest to cast...

Dennis Haysbert is MM

I would agree if it was a young Jean Reno, he might be a bit old for the part now. Dennis Haysbert as MM could be a good fit, The Female is a tough call though.
