Mitt Gets Worse: A visit to the Guv'nor

It is pretty conventional until you get to the end. This man needs not to be president.

There is more important issues at stake this election than same sex marriage. I'm not a fanboy of Mitt but Obama has done such a lousy job that he has to go.

Obama Was the great HOPE and CHANGE president and he as done nothing for gays, illegal alien and Club Gitmo, the economy, jobs and anything else you can think. He promised the sky and delivered nothing.

Don't forget, he followed the first retarded President of the US. He had one hell of a mess to clean up.

Last I checked, the president has no power to create or change existing law....only to veto ones that get passed by the senate and house.

And how the hell are the democrats going to illicit change when you have such an obstructionist non-functional opposition opposing every single thing that goes out on the floor just the for sake of opposing it?

None of the stagnation is the presidents fault....the president is actually one of the least important figures in illiciting any real change.

If you want change, get out and fucking vote for a decent rep / senator.

IF you didnt vote....then shut up and live with it.

Parties aside, why do people believe anything politicians say when they're running for office? There are plenty of people I've supported in the past, and I knew their position on issues, but I never considered them to be committed. And now that I'm remembering, I'm not sure I ever even make that accusation of people I don't support.

EXAMPLE:

Where I'm from in Vancouver, WA, we've been trying to build a new bridge across the Columbia river. It's a pretty necessary action considering the age of the old bridge and the amount of traffic on I5 that crosses it.

Now here's the thing: In the last election the "good-old-boy" mayor, Royce Pollard, explained to people that bridges really aren't built in America these days without at least considering tolls. This became a huge issue in the run up to the election. So his main opponent, Tim Leavitt, simply ran on the platform that he would make sure no one ever paid tolls for the new bridge, ever. Now, a reasonable, rational person might have realized immediately what he was doing, but voters where I'm from (and pretty much everywhere else) tend not to be reasonable and rational about anything.

So, after Tim was elected the new mayor of Vancouver, can you guess what his first "epiphany" was?

And can you really fault him for such a strategy? People will say, "oh, well he'll never get elected in this town again." But he doesn't really have to be, because his next stop is probably senator, if he's lucky. And along the way, if anyone brings it up, he'll just say "oh, well I was young and naive" and you know what?: People will believe him.

It's our fault that politics works this way.

I don't believe the USAF can teach a 'retarded' person to fly an F-102.

However, Jeremiah Wright, Frank Marshall Davis, Barack Obama Sr. and Bill Ayres can apparently teach a person to despise the United States of America.

Everything is the President's fault! Filibuster politics had nothing to do with it. Republicans putting politics ahead of recovery had nothing to do with it. Being a moderate Republican was not good enough - he did not convert to batshitism so filibuster everything.

Obama did not give me my flying car god damn it! SOCIALIST

Go ahead, genius. Be the problem.

Winstonfield_Pennypackersays...

Filibuster politics? Call me a stickler for the proper use of language, but a filibuster is the blocking of legislation in the Senate by forcing a failed cloture vote. That has not happened a single time since Obama took office. Certainly not in 2008-2010 when the Democrats controlled both the House AND the Senate with iron-clad majorities.

Which isn't to say that the Republicans aren't doing everything they can to stall Obama's legislation. To which I say, "Good". The majority of Americans are opposed to Obama's legislative efforts. The GOP wouldn't be doing thier job if they weren't slamming on the brakes. That's what the opposition party is supposed to do. Democrats did it to Bush when they could, and I didn't hear any Boo-Hooing about "filibuster politics" from the peanut gallery at that point. Such "filibuster politics" was rather lauded as I recall when it was Bush on the business end of it. In fact, I recall clearly the Neolibs were all upset and hysterical that the Democrats didn't do a lot MORE "filibuster politics" when they were in the minority.

No you wrong. Bush spent like a Democrat. Obama made the mess bigger. >> ^harpom:

Funny when Bush was in office you piled everything on him. Every thing was his fault, everything. Never mind that Dodd and Frank were in charge of the housing.
In 2001, President George Bush raised concerns in his 2002 budget request, saying “Fannie and Freddie are potential problems.” In his 2003 budget, Bush’s warnings were upgraded to “systemic risk that could spread beyond the housing sector”, and he pushed Congress to establish a “strong, world-class regulatory agency to oversee Fannie and Freddie”. Bush’s legislation was blocked by Dodd, Schumer, and Obama in the Senate, . Over in the House, Barney Frank stated that Fan and Fred were financially sound. Yea the collapse was Bush and the republican fault.

You right. The president is only 1 of the 3 branches. WE need to get rid of every Democrat in the house and senate also. Thanks for the reminder.

Thank GOD I'm not dumb enough to vote Democrat.

That actually is an interesting point.

Given that he is Mormon, however, this incident comes across as willfully ignorant on religious grounds rather than a busy man with other priorities.

Make no mistake about Mormons and gay issues -- the very basis of their religion is procreation to bring forth souls from the pre-life. Being gay strikes at the foundation of their faith.

Does it make sense, given that they don't force infertile couples to divorce or refuse to allow the elderly to marry? No, of course not. Who said religion MAKES FRICKING FRACKING SENSE?

I like how if a politician isn't making a certain subject a priority, it means he's totally against it.

I find it interesting that changing the word "was" to the word "is" can make a statement into a lie so easily.

I stand corrected Ryjkyj, I should have added Obama's definition changed about three months ago. Anyway this video is about something Romney allegedly did years ago as Governor, long before the President came out of the closet. Who knows, maybe Mitt will become a lifetime member of Man’s Country Bathhouse too if he thinks it will help with his LGBT fundraisers.

Yeah... again, there's a difference between having to project a certain political opinion in order to get elected, and aggressively taking action against something. This isn't rocket science. It's something even two-year-olds understand.
