Meat-free meat - BBC News

First vegan 'butcher' shop opens in Minneapolis, in the US.

Each meat-free meat is made from non-GMO wheat with added seasonings and sauces.

Why are vegans obsessed with making things taste like meat? It's like a priest binge watching porn.

"We are against the raising, slaughter and consumption of animals, but we will concede that they are in fact delicious."

I like animals too, but I would crawl over ten dead pigs to get to a B.L.T.

Ya, I never understood why, if they won't eat meat, why they work so hard to make it look, taste, and smell like meat.

A store was serving non-meat CRAB samples. boasting "that there was no meat in the crab" -- and I declined the offered samples saying, "Then what's the point?"

Not really sure why the cooks are wearing shirts that read "Butcher." Just what did they butcher?
I know they haven't earned the right to wear the label when not a single piece of meat was sectioned and cut up.

I'm not vegan, so can only speculate, but if you're choosing not to eat meat for ethical reasons rather than because you really like vegetarian food then perhaps you'd like this?

Also, I have bought vegetarian (tvp) "meat" to replace shredded ham on pizza when cooking for someone who demanded ham on pizza (bleh!). I wouldn't buy it for myself, because it tastes far too much like the shredded meat it's replacing.

That's funny. I would never buy it for myself because it tastes far too little like the shredded meat it's replacing.

I love meat but i don't eat it as much as i'd like (all the time) for health reasons. If i could eat bacon, that was not bad for me, for every meal, i so would. Really comes down to how good it tastes. I'd love to try it. Who knows, maybe it's amazing.
