"So, this is kind of cool. I got a tip yesterday from an anonymous source that he had test footage of the Thundercats CGI-reboot film. Upon further questioning, homeboy sent over the footage, and it checks out (Warner Bros logo and everything). But before we get to the video, let’s go back to 2007, when Variety broke the news of the reboot. At the time, Jerry O’Flaherty, art director Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3, was to direct the movie. Then, in 2009, Movieline posted some leaked concept art of the film. As of now, the film has been put on hold, but a new TV series is scheduled to drop this year.
Now, for what you’ve been waiting for. The video is included here. What do you think? Personally, I was never a Thundercats kind of guy, but I would go see this movie. I honestly have no idea how old this footage is, though. So the movie could be completely changed by the time it releases (if at all). I’ll keep my ear to the ground about any new developments." -

EMPIREsays...that was kinda terrible. looked nothing like the series, and when he goes to use the sword in the end, is just so underwhelming... blegh....
BoneyDsays...Yep, terrible. They made Liono another dumbarse angsty teen, suggesting to me that this will be a typical 'coming of age' story. If he believes hard enough and can just maintain his desire to win, he'll overcome all odds! YEAHH!
Ugh, please.
The language is all pseudo modern colloquial too. The characters of the series at least spoke like they had a pair. (Except Snarf of course... they can get rid of that shit)
antsays...Stop ruining my 80s/1980s childhood, Hollyweird! I think the new animated one would be bad too.
antsays...*80s
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (80s) - requested by ant.
direpicklesays...CGI is an abomination.
FlowersInHisHairsays...Looks good! *runs*
ponceleonsays...Actually I came in with such low expectations I was pleasantly surprised. I mean, not oscar material, but still interesting.
Crosswordssays...I have fond memories of the old thundercats, though I've not seen it since I was 7 or 8, so I can't really make a value judgment based on what I thought was good back then and what I think is good now. Do they have episodes of that you can watch online? I know hulu has he-man and a few other things.
As far as CGI goes, at least it's still a cartoon style. I really hate crappy CGI they try to pass off as real.

Sorry, This is not the Reboot. This is Footage From Abandoned Thundercats CGI Movie. You do not have to worry this project was killed. stamped flat, set on fire, and the ashes buried under Chernobyl. I believe this is the only surviving footage. The people who had come up with this are a couple of feet away from the ashes.

I have no clue yet, That one came out of left field. Your going to see a lot of that from now on. They don't have any new ideas and rebooting old IP is still far cheaper then developing new ones. This way they get the old fan base just to see if its as good and destroys the rabid fan boys that scare away people. Transformers, Star Trek and GI joe proved it could work so its now the single most growing field in movies and TV. I've also heard there is a group looking to Reboot SDF Macross (Robotech), Star Blazers, Galaxy Rangers, Freakazoid and Mask. Sorry to say they are going to Squeeze the 80's dry and not use any KY.
dannym3141says...This captures absolutely nothing of the thundercats i remember.
robbersdog49says...I don't care about the rest, I just want to see Cheetara in CGI.
I'll be, er, back in a minute...
