LA Newsroom's earthquake reaction

Holy shit!! Get the fuck under the table!!
newtboysays...

This is ridiculous...In California, a 4.4 earthquake should not make the news at all. Instead, it was all they talked about all morning. Funny enough, the 6.6 that hit my area around 2 weeks ago hardly made the news at all...as it should be. There was no major damage or injury, so get over it.

What is this trend happening where local (and national) news organizations freak out about any tiny thing (Like the 'OMG, run for the hills, there's 1/2 " of snow forecast for tomorrow...we'll stick with this story for the next 2 days straight instead of our usual programming to keep you informed on the impending snowpocolypse.' stories of last month)? It seems like they're stretching for any story they can fabricate to distract from the fact that they no longer report 'news' or do any 'investigation' whatsoever, and then acting like their BS stories are the most important story of the century. Time to switch to PBS I guess.

It was centered near Westwood, which is where their studio is at. So it probably felt like something big was happening to them at the time. With it being that close to LA, a lot of people would have felt it due to the population density... which is probably why they've not yet shut up about it.

I'm in OC, probably less than 50 miles away and didn't feel a thing.

It was under 9 seconds of some minor shaking. I understand being startled, or even scared during (you never know how bad it WILL get), but this insanity after such a tiny quake is ridiculous...to me.

Follow the money for the magnitude of reaction. Santa Monica, Westwood, populated by rich folks-one reason. Also, the location of the epicenter and recent infrequency in the same area, factors stack-up for worry when this could evidence a pre-trem for more to follow. Let it happen in bumfuck and see how little news it makes. PAC-Rim may go in your lifetimes naysayers, pack a go-baggy.

Did people catch the "Let's go to whatshisname now....if he's still alive", hahaha, just brilliant. Yes after a few second quake that barely shook the TV behind you, the status of this man is now unknown.
