ulysses1904Last time I went to CNN for news was during 9/11. Their website postings seem to be 2-3 days behind the rest of the internet.

LawdeedawSo...Jon knocks their choice to "bring in an unknown British guy" when he himself brings in a token black guy whose whole stick is opposite The Daily Show. I am not saying Trevor will be bad, or that he should't bring in his own style. He should def bring in his own style. But not some style that is polar opposite of what is known.
I am saying there were a thousand better choices that included well-known and loved females, Trevor's token appearances, while not bombs, were very so-so, and Jon doesn't even elaborate on why he picked the unknown, so-so guy...
eric3579Did Jon pick Trevor? I assumed it was Comedy Central as it's their show and not Jons.

brycewi19Jon is still the executive producer of the show, so I'm assuming he probably had a huge say in the "talent acquisition".

ChaosEngine"these are human beings and they're tweeting us. Do you have no respect for them?"
"No"
This. For the love of all that is holy, THIS.
The ability to be heard does not make you worth listening to.
LawdeedawWe say that about you every day...
Just kidding Chaos; couldn't agree with you more

LawdeedawNot to mention Jon isn't afraid to call out people--even CNN on its own show @eric3579
If Stewart didn't make this call, it is his duty to those passed over to raise a stink.
That is at least IMO.

ChaosEngineNo, you're absolutely right
I pay attention to what you and others on this site say because I've read what you've written in the past, and I think there are some smart people here who have interesting things to say.
But we can get in depth here. It's not just a soundbite; it's a discussion where people are forced to defend their arguments.
That just doesn't work with a tweet on a news show. It doesn't add anything to the conversation.
Especially with complex topics.
I couldn't care less what Joe Public thinks about climate change/ universal healthcare / GMOs. Get me someone educated. Sure, we can discuss it after, but on a limited time format, it's just noise.

Hanover_Phistsays...There's a very good reason CNN isn't as effective as Fox. That's because they are both right wing "news" organizations. CNN is the fall guy, the straight man, the under dog that will never land a proper punch; and that's by design. News in the States is an embarrassment.
notarobotWhen was this aired?

poolcleanerI suspect you're a robot, you know that?
When was this aired?
Retroboysays...omg, I wish more people realized how much brevity is the soul of information depletion.
Yeah, it goes the other way too, but sound bites simply can't tell a story.

Retroboysays...This will get slammed but I have to point out that Larry King is starting to look a lot like an Oompa Loompa.
The relevance is it's kinda hard to take him seriously.
ZawashLove how the crew can't help laughing.
