It's Johnnie Walker, btw.
dannym3141And Robert Carlyle wasn't in 28 Days Later, however he was in 28 Weeks Later.
chilaxe^Fixed, thanks. Right, 28 Days Later was the first one, and 28 Weeks Later was the sequel.
dannym3141Yeah.. try real hard to forget the second one. It's just a setup for 28 months later or whatever![](https://videosift.com/vs5/emoticon/tongue.gif)
deadgoonAnd don't forget he was in Ravenous!
vaporlockBrilliant!
dgandhiIt looks, from the credits, that this was shot on a RED camera, which is pretty geektastic as well.
SketchWow! Amazing. I don't think I've ever been so captivated by a history lesson before.
RhesusMonkThis is fucking awesome! How excellent for me to be drinking a Black Label Manhattan at this very moment!!

maatcBRILLIANT!
Ajkiwisays...Why in the hell is this subtitled? It kept distracting me the whole way through... seemed perfectly understandable scottish to me...
Offsajdh"Filmed on location in Inverlochlarig, Perthshire, Scotland"
Dont know how "Inverlochlarig" is pronounced... but I want to go there.

Had to actually check again after watching if they were there since I didn't notice em, but yeah, rather unnecessary subtitling.
Oh and a great, great ad
neteansays...the Geek in me, wonders:
how many takes did this take - the timing had to be spot on.
How hard a job that must have been for the cameraman (or woman): walking backwards is hard enough without having to do it on a stony track.
Really well made film, pity about the bloody bagpipes at the beginning (worst instrument ever invented)
and why the subtitles - I'm sure even Americans can understand this?
grintermore impressed by the camera man.

Didn't you know that Steadi-Cam operators are part mountain goat.
If anything I feel bad of the person holding the cue cards, walking backwards and having to keep track of when to switch cards.
Either that or they used a rickshaw.

According to an interview with the director it took 40 takes over the course of two days, and they did in fact use a rickshaw.
I noticed that toward the end, he was looking down a lot.
Watching where he was going, or looking at cue cards?
kymbosFantastic, but 'adopted by pro-democracy activists'?
Tell 'im 'e's dreamin.

You know, I still come back to this video sometimes and play it in the background while I'm working... I think it makes a good soundtrack.. Johnnie bootstrapping himself up from nothing.
brycewi19As beautiful a drink JW is, it's still *drugs.

EDDHim reading from the cue cards was a tad too noticeable for my liking, and I'd wager a guess the subtitles were partly there to divert attention from him constantly glancing down, but I'm just nit-picking, honestly, I did like this ad![](https://videosift.com/vs5/emoticon/smile.gif)
Trancecoachthey play this video at the periodic Johnnie Walker tasting parties I've attended... You get to sample Black, Red, Gold, Green, and Blue.
