I can't tell what plane that is, but jet engines are usually designed to handle bird strikes. It must have hit that one spot that would have caused a failure.

Yea, that's the only part I enjoyed.

So far the record, a 100 ton contraption made out of pure steel designed by some of the topmost geniuses in the world can still meet its match with pigeon. We have a long way to go.

Luckily the bird struck on take off, might have been a little more dangerous if it struck in landing. (Planes can still fly when an engine fails, but if it fails during landing, the plane might slow too quick. This would make it land short of the run way, which could be a very bad thing.
