Theoretical physicist Kip Thorne explains how he helped to create special effects for a scientifically accurate black hole, and some of the theoretical background for Interstellar.

That was a lot better than the actual movie.

Watched it last night... tremendously disappointing. Some interesting ideas, but ultimately ruined by a completely awful 3rd act.

It's great when the attempt to portray theoretical events 'properly' actually ends up teaching scientists something new about the science instead of just trying to show what we already knew.
Can't speak to the movie, I haven't seen it, but I appreciate the efforts made here.

I haven't seen it but that's the general vibe I have gotten from those who have. It's fantastic up until the latter 3rd of the movie which sucks. I'll probably wait till its on netflix or hbo (once they get their no-tv pay service up).

Yep. Without spoiling things too much, it basically descends into new age bullshit.

I finally saw this film.
I didn't expect much, and I was still disappointed.
Really messy writing, belongs in a bargain bin with some star trek tv episodes.
Beautiful soundtrack

Just saw it in IMAX (after hearing from many different people it'd be a disappointment to see it on the small screen at home).

I kept hearing the same review over and over, even from the commenters above: "It's great up until the third act."

Every time I heard that, it lowered my expectations more and more until it had me thinking there's no way I could possibly be disappointed by it...

And I wasn't.

The end.
