How to lose your job in 28 seconds.

picklekingsays...

Unfortunately, the title of this post "How To Lose Your Job...." doesn't reflect the actual actions in this instance.

According to the msnbc story that LadyBug linked to... Mike-the idiot dispatcher-only received a scolding, while his boss said that NEXT time would result in termination.

I never cease to be amazed by the idiocy and incompetance too often exhibited by the police. UGH!

If she needs to "physically control" her kids, she's probably not a good parent anyway...
And if a cop went over there and the kid was to attack the cop, he could shoot her couldn't he?
Just from hearing a few seconds of her talking, she doesn't sound like a person I'd want to meet or have as a mother.

The lady is a moron. She can't control a 12 year old? the 12 year old is as big as her... That child must be a monster... or she is a pathetic mother... your choice. The dispatcher made a bad joke, but that was all it was a joke.

i was brought up to expect a belt or a switch to the buttocks if i was real bad. i turned out just fine.
if you don't ever discipline your children (at all, i mean cmon, at least discipline them verbally) then imagine an entire planet of Paris Hilton's.

"at all, i mean cmon, at least discipline them verbally"

That's where discipline begins and ends in my opinion. When you get physical you cross the line into intellectual redundancy and child abuse. Who really wants to give their kids a violent role model?

Apologies if my comments ruffle any feathers but I just don't think hitting children is acceptable for any reason whatsoever, however desperate and lost the parent might be.

kicked a hole in the door and she calls the cops? what a pussy mom...

Only excuse I can come up with; single mother... a lot of other stresses on her mind, and no father to help instill a little fear of reprisal for misconduct.

Although we don't know the exact situation it doesn't really matter whether or not the parent should have called 911 or dealth with the situation herself.

911 recordings/transcripts are used in court and a comment like that at the wrong time could even create confusion in the wrong situation. The comment may have been funny, per se...but not in that situation. He's not a bloody inbound phone rep for life insurance...he's a 911 operator who should be thinking more clearly.

Like someone said, make the joke to your co-workers AFTER hanging up.

Notice how she completely forgets about her 12 year old kicking a hole in the floor and begins her rant about how she is going to file a formal complaint. Not just any complaint-a FORMAL complaint! Some parents use the police to threaten their children and the kids grow up to think police are their parents. Like on COPS. Probably a step mother.
