Thanks to dailypicksandflicks.com I can now say that the video is by Atthannop Lekhavijitr, and I've swapped in the yt embed that he posted.

The Thai have a lot of practice with these. They start with car or motorcycle engine, mount on a boat and then weld a rod with a prop to where the gearbox would normally go.

Yeah, fairly normal long-tail boat, although it sits quite a bit lower in the water than most. Probably because that seems to be rather a lot of engine for such a small craft...
