Ghost Train Hunter Killed by Real Train

msnbc: ...witnesses said about 12 people were on the trestle hoping to see a ghost train when the real train rounded a bend.

wait wait wait.... how exactly does a ghost train work? is it the soul of the train? do trains have souls?

edit: i know they were supposedly looking for ghosts of a train wreck... but still...

dumbasses.

"They went to graveyards and asked questions..." Sorry but WTF?!

Unfortunately it looks like he/they endangered the lives of an entire group by wandering down the tracks. This is the sort of thing that stupid kids do.

And what makes you think he doesn't completely warrant it?

He was clearly taking his life into his own hands when he was hanging out on a very narrow bridge which still had trains running on it. You say "too soon," I say "good riddance." I have no sympathy for this kind of idiocy.

I would just like to point out to people that this is textbook irony.

More like traintrack irony!

herp derp

But really, this is just sad. I wish people would forget about ghosts and the possibility of an afterlife and just enjoy their lives, and being alive, today. You won't ever really know until you're dead, so why dick around trying to find out while you're alive?

I think the appeal is that they're still scary. I'm an atheist, I DO NOT believe that ghosts exist. But they still scare the hell out of me in an unfamiliar place at 2 in the morning. I say have fun with it. But be responsible. And keep Vern off the damn train bridge.

Knew a guy who was killed by a train, points changed and trapped his foot. Yes, that actually happens.

So I cant find any reason to say this poor bastard deserved to be killed or his family deserve to be grieving.

Just want to point out that being an atheist doesn't mean you can't believe in ghosts. At least as long as you don't restrict your personal definition of "ghost" to being something related to God.

"Atheist" is not a synonym for skeptic.

Payback, after careful editing, I'll just say it didnt have an emergency lever, or they would have used it... No one puts their feet into moving machinery!?! Those things snap closed in a second.

I shouldnt have ever mentioned this, would you do me a favour and edit out my quotation in your post? I said too much in my original post. Thanks.
