Weird to think that he died before Google was around - or even the Web at all. Doesn't seem that long ago.
Zifnab*british *quality. RIP Freddie, such an amazing talant.

Amen*, brother. Cheers for the quality.
*if I may say that as an atheist
ChaosEngineActually, I have to say Freddie had a reasonably profound effect on my world view. When I discovered he was gay, I was a typically bigoted ignorant young teenage male (the fact that I didn't realise he was gay probably tells you as much as you need to know about me at that age).
I only found out he was "a queer" when he died, but I'd always thought his voice and music were epic. It forced to re-evaluate my stereo-typed view of the world, which lead to a number of important epiphanies in my life.
I don't believe in an afterlife, but if I'm wrong, I hope he's up there jamming with Hendrix, John Bonham and John Entwistle.
gwiz665Yeah, this was awesome. Queen is one of those few bands that are timeless.
direpickleAll of Queen's concert at Wembley Stadium in 1986 is streaming--maybe just for today?
ShepppardI was 2 when Freddie died, but my mom always played his music around the house. Finally when I was around 11 years old I got curious about how he died.
I knew it was something tragic, but never knew what. So, I went up to my mom and asked
"Freddie Mercury died of an Over-dose, right?"
She looked me dead in the eye and said
"yes... Of Aids."
I've never forgot about that.
gwiz665You were 2 in 1992?? Jesus Christ I'm old.
