^Do that
bleedmegoodsays...When I posted this I almost put 'Not a prank, per se...' in the video description out of concern that people would nitpick and dissect the word 'prank',and the comment section would turn into a semantic debate over what constitutes a prank and if this video meets said qualifications....but then then i thought, 'Nah! Don't be ridiculous. That would never happen. '

Bless you for still having such a faith in humanity after so long on the sift. Don't worry, they'll eradicate it eventually...

Is this the same guy? If so, he's already internet gold.

There's a story behind it, but being raised Mormon I +1 this.

I think you just forgot that words have different meanings.
It's sorta like me revealing that you've just won "a MIIIILLION BUCKS!!"
You'd get all super pumped thinking about all the fancy cars you were about to buy..
Only to find your house and yard were filled thousands of angry male deer.
Also, "not a prank, per se.." describes this pretty well and there is a handy description box. just sayin'

yup, same guy
FlowersInHisHairsays...That's not what "per se" means, though.
Sarzysays...I'm fairly certain that would be correct usage of "per se". What makes you think it isn't?

cbp2says...Because if you said it was 'not a prank per se' then you would be implying that, considering various other factors, one could consider this a prank or perhaps consider it prank-like.
I don't think it is possible to consider this a prank. So your use of the word per se is correct per se, but incorrect when one considers the conversational implicature.

Sarzysays...Well sure, this is a lame prank, but it still is a prank.
