Eva Markvoort's Last Words - Farewell Blog (heartbreaking)

I had never heard of Eva Markvoort until now. Apparently she documented her battle with cystic fibrosis. This was really hard for me to watch. She passed away on March 27th, 2010. I hope I can face my death with as much love and gratitude as she did.

Wouldn't worry about someone like Westy ya'll... thats a pretty typical response for incredibly insecure people who don't know how else to react when faced with grace and courage they really can't even concieve of in themselves. It's to be pittied.. not ridiculed...

Wow, courage under pressure.
I wish I could have half of what she has.
so if somebody posted their final deathbed video, but instead, they were crying and scared and in their frustration with their situation they needlessly blamed other innocent people and were refusing to accept their death, would you comment on such a video and call them a coward?

i'm not trying to be rude or controversial here, just trying to understand people's logic here.

I don't know, I've never seen a video like that. So, I don't know what I would do or feel. Eva does show strength in this video. Having almost died to cancer myself, your mind runs a gambit of emotions. Having been scared, and frustrated, yes, I wish I had half the courage she had. If I have to do it again, maybe I will, I don't know.

If your going to get ecsessivley emotoinal over this one video or this one girls case then your a mornic fool .

yes its sad when people die but Loads of people die in hospitals in simular ways every day so why be so emotoinaly invested in this one case ?

The only good that could come from this is that it might make more people get donor cards but evan then if you have what this girl has and you reject 1 pair of donor lungs its unlikely that you would get another pair evan if there wasent a organ shortage.

Her blog continues here.

Death does not affect me as strongly as it does most people. I feel it's one of the most important parts of life. That doesn't mean I'm not sad when someone dies; that I don't miss them; but I am not obsessed with prolonging life the way most people are. I'm not a very charitable person. I have mixed feelings about a lot of causes that seek to cure terminal diseases.

I still admire Eva. She inspired thousands. I don't hesitate to say, were I in her position, I'd curl up and wait for death. I'm not proud of that, but there are few people who can use the end of their own lives to improve a world they won't even get to enjoy. The vast majority of us just don't have the fortitude.

@westy, you "moronic fool", Eva's story is not notable because she was a young woman who died; It's notable for how she used her time.
