charliemsays...Sounds like a bunch of conceited rich cunts to me (the guys on the radio show, not TED).....id like to hear from TED before making any decision.
cluhlenbraucksays...I thought something was up when they do "excelling women" TED talks. It always struck me as odd because I thought TED talks was just about new ideas.
why divide something into strictly women talk and then everything else?
fuck TED sounds weird.
ponceleonsays...Hmmm, I'm holding judgement. Specifically since he seems to imply that a lot of these "rules" were only applied to him because of his race... seems odd...
Jinxsays...Good lord. I know maths isn't everybodies strong point but struggling with 2k*8k?
legacy0100says...The comments about his race was a joke ponce.
Anyways this is a side of TED that I was not aware of. Very nice find. *promote
ps. for the record I'm Asian and I'm terrible at math. I didn't know the answer to that 2k x 8k question. I knew it was somewhere 16 but didn't know how many millions it was.

Like these guys - love TED speakers , but have heard some not so nice things about the organisers.

highdileehosays...I watched the video because I heard good things about Joe's podcast. The Bro-Speak was more then any reasonably intelligent person can tolerate. But I will say that I know people with his personality, and people generaly hang onto their every word. I get why people find him entertaining, i refer to those people as unfiltered sieves but anyway.
TED talks are about the hour long talk not all the bullshit the speaker has to deal with in order to associate with their very high quality product; which is making himself available for promotion for 8 days, pretty reasonable considering the boost he would recieve by participating. If he dosen't like it then don't be apart of it. My feeling is that he really thought it would be a good move to be associated with the TED brand and got bitter after he broke the pre-arranged agreement. It has nothing to do with "how societies were created" or any other pretentious crap, the guy failed at an attempt to further his career and handled it like a fat spoiled child. Or if I was to describe it like Joe:
....fuckin ....fuckin ....fuckin..... bro
P.S.
VICE is the most poorly produced, amateur hour, broadcast. The topics are extremly myopic and serves special interests groups. in 100 years the entire world will laugh at the ridiculous nature of their product. Like watching a Dio video:

ponceleonsays...FYI, I caught the full podcast over the weekend and I have to say that the Eddie is a total douche-bag, prone to hyperbole, and oftentimes just uneducated about stuff (you should have heard his brilliance when Joe stated talking about terraforming and life on Mars).
I should point out that I am a Joe Rogan fan, or at least, I enjoy his podcast. Joe may be a tremendous stoner and spends WAY too much time talking about drugs, but he is also VERY well read and can be incredibly insightful at times. Some of his podcasts are really amazing. This one... not so much. I've enjoyed some of VICE's shtick (especially when they went to North Korea), but they really are self-important, HEEEEY MAAAAN, douches and hearing this guy really brought out the worst about them...
Unless someone else gives me further evidence, I'm putting this report of the TED "cult" under the "suspect" header.
Deanosays...Interesting. The one bit that made me think "yeah..." was the ovation manipulation which even after the edit after looks a bit weird on TED Talks.
