This kind of thing is better left to expert Cetacea crews with considerable experience in Whale demolition. The problem here could have been obstruction of the "blow hole" which focused the blast, resulting in ballistic blubber and putrid projectiles.

reminds me of that dead whale in Taiwan few years back that was being transported through the city and burst spilling its guts all over a city street.
