dystopianfuturetodayGood stuff.
Tofumar^ Indeed.
RedSkyThe very fact that it's necessary for someone to go out and say this is disheartening.
PaybackSo... this was Ron Paul's running mate? I believe it.
Drachen_Jagersays...McCain doesn't wear a lapel flag. Huckabee didn't wear a flag pin. Clinton didn't wear a flag pin. Edwards didn't wear a flag pin. Romney didn't wear a flag pin. Why is this only an issue for Obama? When will an interviewer ask McCain why he doesn't wear a pin? Or at least Clinton!
enemycombatantsays...This commentary is as unnecessary as those pins.
Does anyone beyond the age of 5 really want or need a professional journalist to teach them that "it's what's on the inside that matters"?
deedub81Obama has said he doesn't wear a Flag lapel pin on purpose. That's different than the other candidates showing up without one from time to time.
SketchUm, Yes, apparently they do. They are stupid and ignorant, but they do. Welcome to America.

Drachen_Jagersays...Deedub 81;
Most of the other major candidates NEVER wore lapel pins during the election cycle (debates or public appearances) are you suggesting the Obama didn't wear one on purpose and the other candidates just forgot?
Of course he said he doesn't wear one on purpose, he's the only candidate who is asked about it.
TofumarSomeone on another thread about this theme pointed out that there was a period from 2001-2007 where a flag pin could be reliably used as an asshole detector. Most people wearing them were doing it so they could sneer at--and feel superior to--their fellow Americans, and all the while they were cashing in on their faux patriotism to gain credibility in supporting policies which resulted in hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis.
8266says...amen.
guessandcheckIt's pretty disheartening, but for me the flag has lost it's glory to the uber-patriotism bandwagon. When you see the the American flag on cell phone holders, pocket knives, and home pregnancy tests the integrity of America, and it's people is diluted.

Majortomyorke^ Is that why my baby's momma got preggers? Because she forgot the American flag emblem on her birth control? Damnit!

J.S. Mill speaks the truth.
On the video, some times pointing out the obvious is the best course of action.

It's cause Obama is Muslim, remember???
ReverendTedObama doesn't need a lapel pin. Did you see those eight enormous American flags behind him during his response to the Reverend Wright controversy?
U-S-A! U-S-A!
furrycloudsays...This exactly how I described my feelings on this issue to a friend of mine recently. However, I still don't approve of not respecting the flag during the pledge of allegiance.
videosiftbannedmeThank you, Bob. It's too bad as logical as your argument is, that there are still mindless Republicans who would rather debate this than real issues.
Tofumar"However, I still don't approve of not respecting the flag during the pledge of allegiance.
Neither do I. It's a good thing Obama didn't do so.
chingaleraWhat's your jewelry Net Ruiner, eh?
