Bo' Selecta! - Michael Jackson's Crib

Bo' Selecta! is a British TV comedy sketch show and the brainchild of writer/performer, Leigh Francis. The humour involved in Bo' Selecta! derives from masks, puppetry, extremely bizarre and surreal humour, brutal (and pop culture-penetrating) catchphrases, vulgar jokes and imagery, and the exposing of celebrity pretentiousness disguised as enthusiastic fan worship.

The title is taken from the UK Garage subculture, and literally means "great DJ!". It was most notably used in the Artful Dodger and Craig David's song, "Rewind", which is the most likely source of the title. According to Craig David's Life Story in the extras section of the DVD of the first series, "You can say it when you're happy... Bo' Selecta! I've won a tenner!! You can say it when you're angry... Oh, Bo' Selecta!! Or you can say it for no reason at all... Bo' Selecta! There. Just said it. Didn't mean owt."

I love British comedy but I've just never understood this show... I simple don't find it funny.

When it first came out it seemed that everyone was raving about it. Couldn't understand why.

uhm noooo. I don't downvote merely unfunny videos. Since I've never heard any jackson talk like that, the joke is obviously intended to be based on stereotypes of how British people think most black Americans talk. and THAT is something I would expect to find funny if I were a rube living in 1920's Alabama. Since I'm not, it isn't and if I were black I probably would find it bordering on the offensive.

Bit of a general sweep at the British people there. The whole show is a stereotype really, but it paradies fame and the famous, not a race. Race, colour or creed doesn't come into it.
