hahaha. mr. rightous not only is gay (which there is nothing wrong with, except when you preach against it and turn out to be the most literal of hypocrites), he paid a male prostitute.

On topic, seems to me this video has been posted before, but i can't seem to find it. I'll vote it up when it clears up.

peretz, i'll start with your ignorant comments at the word "jihadist."

From wiki:
"jihadist... from the Arabic root ǧhd ("to exert utmost effort, to strive, struggle"), which connotes a wide range of meanings: anything from an inward spiritual struggle to attain perfect faith to a political or military struggle."
Essentially, it is a struggle with faith, not necesarily violent. By using the term jihadist, you are giving legitimacy to to the extremists and insulting the rest of the muslim community.

from http://www.altmuslim.com/perm.php?id=613_0_26_0_C30 :
"the term in Islamic law that describes the activities of al Qaeda more accurately than then term "Jihad" is "hirabah", which has a more general meaning of "sinful warfare"."

Next, your "sane person" comment has already been addressed, so i'll leave it alone.

Next, torture seems ethical until it is applied to you. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be tortured under any circumstances(excluding you being some sort of masochist.) However, your standards for others being tortured is relatively low. What if someone thought torturing you would reveal a terrorist plot?
If you look at the history of a country like Uruguay or Brazil from the 1970s, you will see that torture doesn't stop with "enemies." Once that line is crossed, any and everyone who doesn't hold military power is susceptible to the use of torture. It becomes a means of control, rather than a tool.
Besides, torture rarely, if ever, reveals information that is useful. If you are sticking needles underneath someone's fingernails, they can say pretty much anything you want them to say, but not always the truth.

Perhaps you should try to understand the concept/philosophy of ethics before you go and make outragous statements that you don't even understand. I understand it's easy to repeat what you heard bill o'reilly say combined with some facts you learned in honors history in 12th grade and pass it off as your own, but it really makes you look lazy.

Last, your invasion plans for Iran left out this:
13. Completely bungle the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan and get bogged down in a land war you can't win, allowing Iran to pretty much do as they please because they know the US can't invade. Oh, and make sure you alienate the entirity of western civilization so you can't call for back-up.

In short, torture = bad, and should never be an acceptable form of action under any circumstances.

Kerry's Stuck in Iraq Sound Bite

let's see....
1. The iraq war is completely FUBAR and has been since day one. Even Bush admits it isn't going good right now. I don't even know where the body count for our side is, but it has to be reaching for 3,000. Don't get me started on the civilian deaths. This war is another Vietnam and Bush was misinformed with a motive/ lied to to get us there.
2. In the last 6 years, the Republican controled government has done nothing short of waging economic war on the middle and low class with massive tax cuts for the top one percent. The middle class gets the burden because poor people don't pay taxes in the first place, but somehow, they get all the blame from the middle class on this. Meanwhile, wall street rolls around in its collective money bin a la scrooge mcduck.
3. Osama bin who?
4. A republican congressman who is supposed to be in charge of federal missing and exploited children laws turns out to be a pedophiliac. Republican leadership doesn't act, even though they had word of it at least a couple years before.
5. Lobbyist Jack Abramoff looks to have bribed several promenant members of congress and even the vice president. The government is owned by special interests, not the people.
6. Huricane Katrina. "Heckuva job brownie"
7. Pretty much every country in the world hates us.
8. Religious fundementalism is on the rise, including Jewish, Christian and Muslim. Not a good thing if you want to live a fairly peaceful life.
9. Say good-bye to privacy! Since this is a post 9-11 world, the government needs to be able to listen to your phone conversations without a warrant, just in case you want to sell a dirty bomb to a guy calling from Iran. PATRIOT act? How much money did they spend on the PR firm to think that acronym up? Oh, and make sure you paint any news reporter brave enough to leak anything about it as a terrorist.
10. While you're at it, say good-bye to Habeus Corpus. The government can hold you without charges now in camp Guantanomo. Isn't that nice?
11. And of course, good-bye to the Geneva convention. Terrosists aren't human beings much less any sort of real military force, so naturally it's ok to torture them. Make sure to respond with horror and amazement when their side does it to American contractors for maximum effect.

And we're worried about some assclown who isn't even running for an office that said something stupid, which he obviously didn't mean? This is why critical thinking should be taught in grade school.

This country absolutely needs change. I'm no fan of Democrats (or any "leadership" for that matter), but lets face it: things aren't going so great here in the ol' US of A under republicans. A senator from Massachusettes' comments aren't going to make people forget that.

it's an actual democracy, not a conspiracy. The masses have spoken - you couldn't drum up enough support on this site to get a video out of the line, so go somewhere else. It's not like your views are being silenced. Videosift isn't the only website. In fact, there are millions upon millions of them - many of them espousing the same insane views you have!

you gots to love the internet and the freedom that comes with it.

Apparantely, MS and TP made this under contract to show off macromedia shockwave. When the suits saw it, they tore up said contrct.

Definitely will offend some, so if you are the type, save yourself some trauma and don't watch it.
