You have no idea how close you are. Brain scans during prayer and meditation have shown that a specific portion of the brain becomes much more active, while suppressing the facuties that allow us to distinguish between our bodies and the world. So, our brains, for whatever reason, are wired to be able to have an irrational faith and belief even in the most dire of situations.

That movie was so incredibly bad. I just couldn't stand it the first time I watched it. Then I realized that it was so bad, it was a work of art at how bad it was. I can now enjoy this movie in its bad-ness because of corny lines like in this scene.

I remember when the documentary series was on TV. It fascinated me, a interesting look at not only the science behind a human life-time, but the humanity as well. Does make you wonder, are we truly more than the sum of our parts? Or are there simply parts we have yet to measure?
